What are your thoughts on best lure to use in a neighborhood large pond for bass fishing?

We mainly use plastics. I'll throw a rat-l-trap or spinner bait every now and then, but not with much luck. The only other thing I have pretty good success with is a jig thrown around the large groups of bushes/small trees out in the middle.

Depends on the time of the year. Worm or spinner bait has always worked well. Early am or late afternoon a buzz bait generally works well around the edges/grass along bank.

I'm assuming this pond has been fished to hell and back so you'll have to use something no one else is using.

Zoom super fluke.

As far as natural action goes it can't be beat if you work it right, really triggers a fishes instincts to strike even if they aren't hungry. Fish about 4 inches below the surface. Twitch, let it die, twitch let it die. You need to be able to see the lure though or else you'll miss a lot of fish. I prefer the lavender/cream colored one, I can't recall the actual name they give the color.

I've been using crankbaits and have been sorta low on the luck, catching only a few sacalait over the past couple weeks so I figured its time to try something new

6" twirl tail plastic worm is the only answer. If you don't believe me, I challenge you to a pond fish off.

Caught this one last week swimming a jig. You can see the jig next to the can. The pond i fish has hardly any cover in it. I have luck with bottom baits usually, but sometimes they rather the jig swimming. Baby brush hog on a shakey head or a jig.
