I was going to make one for tomorrow night. What do you put in them?

Kind of like a meatloaf with lamb and beef.
Seems like a lot of work and you'll have to make a tzatziki sauce..
Here's a Recipe

I have. I just used chicken. Made some cucumber sauce using plain yogurt. It was legit.

We have -sort of- used ground lamb and ground beef pressed into patty and grilled hot with Greek seasoning the stuff in the white and red can. Heated pita in skillet added thin sliced onions parsley and tsisakey (sp?) sauce. They were ok - nothing special

It's like a Ban Mi, tamale or Pho in that it is so much more of a pain to make it, then it is to pay a few bucks for one.

You may have better luck with Schwarma.

agreed.

it ends up more expensive and less delicious - might as well go out to get one.

Got one of those big cylinders of meat they use from the byblos grocery on vets in metry one time. We cut it in half so it would fit in the set-it-and-forget it and made our own that way. Came out pretty awesome, but you get to see just how fatty that shite is. Gallons of grease came off that thing.

Not quite the same but the family enjoyed this recipe. LINK

The tzatziki is what really makes it. LINK
