RIP, but really it wasn't ever that good. The owner was a client of mine when I was a stockbroker.

My grandmother loved it, but I never did understand that love. The boiled seafood portions were tiny.

Found a roach in a basket of crawfish once and saw a rat scoot across the floor another time.

Once upon a time it was a little nieghborhood joint for the locals and the food was good. It was never going to challenge anyone on greatness, but it fit the needs of its customers.

I'd go about once a year, just for the sake of it... I agree with the nothing special, but not bad either..

Overall I was never wowed by it, but now I've got the hankering for some pepper rings.

I liked it because of the old NO neighborhood feel and the fried green pepper rings. I can also understand why most people thought it was a dump. RIP.

A cold Dixie beer long neck served with the tiny glasses on top while awaiting your food was a pleasure. The slate board menu to place an order from just seemed to be right in it.

Those were very good. Just so many better options at the same price point now.

Just went there right after Christmas....the father-in-laws go to place. Never thought it was great, but I appreciated the hole in the wall neighborhood joint aspect of the place.
