I'm trying to take the SO on a date night tonight. I'm looking for something preferably in the $10-$15 per plate range and certainly not over $20. Some quick limitations: she's allergic to fish (no sushi), corn (no Mexican), soy (no Asian), and peanuts (I have to call ahead anywhere that serves fried food).

She likes steak, chicken, gumbo, pork, bbq, ect. Just trying to think of somewhere we haven't been a bunch of times that will make for a nice change of pace and a fun date night.

take her to portobello's ... there's one on jefferson at old hammond, and on george o'neal .. probably has the best gumbo in BR and a lot of dishes for around the range you are talking about ..

how nice of a place you looking for?

I'm pretty sure Gino's has entree in the 12-15 range like spahgetti and meatballs, lasgana, etc.

Portobello's in Bocage. Nice atmosphere for a date and reasonable prices if you limit the drinks. Sit in one of the booths.

Byronz is way too noisy.

if your not drinking you can go to just about any restaurant in town and find things on the menu for under 20 dollars a head.

I know the feeling. Dated someone (briefly) who shared some of those afflictions. It was a nightmare.

Haven't lived in BR in a while. There used to be an Italian spot on Perkins near Standford I believe. Liandros?

Well at least he knows what to serve if a murder is needed to end the relationship. The explanation is a simple Oops.
