The product on the field has declined at an alarming rate. Here is the proof:

1. The winner of the Heisman lost two games AT HOME. I would challenge all SEC Rant historians to list a Heisman winner with the same stat.

2. The modern dynasty team Bama lost at least one game AT HOME the past three seasons. This is something you toothless wonders should consider before comparing Bryant to Saban. In the Bryant era a 1 loss SEC team had virtually no chance at a championship. If they did, Bryant would have potentially 4 additional titles.

3. Big Ten football is a dumpster fire. This conference is at an all time low. Northwestern was the pride of the conference this bowl season.

I think the big question is will the trend continue. The Big 12 or Texas invitational league appears to be going down the tubes. The Pac 10 has produced nationally viable teams the past four seasons and are the only league showing improvement.

This season may have been the worst season of college football in the last 30 years. Does the trend continue on 2013?

Goes to the best player, not best team.

Didn't Florida finish either 7-6 or 8-5 when Tebow won the Heisman?

I think with regards to the B1G comment that Michigan, Ohio State, and once getting off probation PSU will be respectable teams for years to come.

RGIII won it and Baylor lost like 4 or 5 games.

it's the best player, not the best team.

Paul Hornung for one. Notre Dame went 2-8 and lost four games at home.

Records and ratings prove you wrong.

Twenty-one non SEC teams across the country won ten or more games this year including Oregon, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Florida State, Clemson, Kansas State, Louisville, Oklahoma, Utah State, Northwestern, Boise State, San Jose State, Northern Illinois, and Nebraska. Ratings are as high as ever. Yeah, college football is in decline..... Get off your soapbox dumb arse.

It's also true that Bama has only lost 3 home games in the last 5 years. Two of those 3 losses came to the #1 ranked team in the country.

I remember seeing a lot of people say this in 2009 and 2011 too.

Only if a three-peat occurs.
