You could make a hearty vegetable beef soup. I usually make a butternut bisque a couple times each winter that is really simple, but good.

I cooked a shrimp etouffee and totally screwed it up. I have no idea where I went wrong but thats 2 lbs. of nice shrimp I trashed. This is a good cold night dish but we might be having Leaders fried chicken instead.

Going cook cracklins in an hour at my cuzes and drink away my blues.

Happens some times I guess.

I love the white cheddar soup I put in the recipe book. I'm making an oyster artichoke soup.

Coq au vin and beef bourguignon are both great cold weather dishes. I use Ina Garten's recipes as a guide for those.

White bean chili- my recipe is in the recipe book.

Tortilla soup

Sweet potato and andouille soup

Corn and andouille bisque (see corn and crab recipe in the recipe book)

Vegetable beef soup

I love to make ham and bean soup when it is cold. Smoked hocks and large limas. I make a big pot and eat on it for several nights with cornbread.

Leek soup with Italian sausage, chicken broth carrots potatoes and heavy cream. With crusty bread.

Great northern beans with ham cooked in them would be nice too with cornbread but you must soak the beans overnight.

Got a version of Ina's Coq au vin? Never made it. Thought about trying it a while back and then forgot.
