True. You get anywhere near that close and somehow don't see my spread (could happen), I'm gonna let you know either by blowing a call or waving a hat... ANYTHING to warn you of where you're moving your boat. Again, if the hunter doesn't do anything and just lets you mosey on in, then he's a dumbass. ETA: okay, i'm probably not gonna shoot at ya to get your attention but you get the point

Just from a courtesy stand point I would move. Saftey would also be a consideration. If you have to pass through, do so quickly. He was there first and spent more time setting up. Not something you have to do, just the right thing.

Just me personally I would move on. I've never hunted the marsh and have only fished in the marsh once so I'm not all that experienced in the matter, but if I knew he was there I'd move on. However, courtesy seems to be thrown out of the window too much these days.

Most people take the legal side of this - of course if it is public land you can pull up right beside him and fish right in his decoy spread. Free country, blah, blah. Sportsman thing to do - if he was there first use common courtesy and find someplace else to fish where you aren't bothering him and he is not bothering you. I don't get why this is so hard for some people to fathom.

The reason for the debate is it's not always that clear cut. Obviously you didn't read the thread and the circumstantial scenarios possible for this to be debatable.

Your og post did not make it seem that way.

I'm currently trolling the shite out of this duck hunter that feels entitled to a section of marsh that is evidently accessible by boat. Dude was complaining about a boat being within 70 yards of his blind saying fishermen have all that water to fish so why fish right by his blind.
Just looks to me like this isn't going how you thought it would.

Something similar happened to me, but with another duck hunter. Was hunting Joyce WMA, and brushed an already made (half knocked down) blind with a ton of rosos (sp?) we were out there for about an hr before shooting time. About 15 min before shooting time a go-devil pulls up, and says that's his blind and we need to move. We have decoys out, and no way I'm moving from public land that he claims is "his". We exchanged a few words, and he made a pass through our decoys. He set up about 30 yards behind us. Joke was on him though... Every duck that would go to him had to come over our blind. We busted a limit before he made a shot. I don't think I've ever shot so well. I was so pissed off. If its public land it's first come first serve, but if he set up close to a boat lane that's his problem. That being said, don't stop and fish just find another spot.

Why not be courteous and go fish someplace else? Fishing around an occupied duck blind is completely a dick move. I would not do this.

I actually never made it to the climber. VERY glad the host had some sort of orange tough paper towel like items in the side by side. WAY better than a sycamore leaf.

i think the topic has been debated and answered correctly we as duck hunters are only allowed 60 days a year to hunt, i believe. not all of those we are able to hunt, so if anything messes up a hunt, it's a little personal it should be easy to spot where a hunter is (spread of dekes) located, so try to avoid that area by AT LEAST 200 yards. fisherman typically stay on the water longer than hunters, so if the hunter is in a favorite spot of yours, just fish elsewhere and try back in a few hours
