With shrimp, chicken, andouille, red cream sauce, linguine, cajun spice, etc?

Or is this just a made up dish that the rest of America eats to feel cajun.

It's an Alfredo sauce with andouille. The andouille is why some call it "Cajun". Some will add roasted red peppers to give it the red color. Some actually put tomatoes in it. I like it sans tomatoes.

Now I know you really are from Ohio. Might I suggest a trip to Portland and a meal of Cajun potato soup?

Never heard of it but it sounds like a form of pastalaya.

I'd give it a whirl.

This is the part that confuses me. Not too many cajun dishes outside of a Sauce Piquante that would really have tomato in it.

Its also not common to have chicken and shrimp together. It occurs its just not the norm.

Our versions of italian cajun typically involve alfredo style sauce with crawfish or shrimp or chicken with some tasso thrown in, trinity and there is no such thing as cajun spice. Its just salt, pepper, cayenne for the most part.

shrimp, chicken, and andouille topped on linguine? Is it any wonder Louisiana is one of the fattest states?

I've seen this combination in gumbo.. It's called "Louisiana gumbo" on the buffet at Le Pavillion.

Cajun Pasta is a tasty nutrious treat.

The wife makes a killer crawfish lasagna. Really good as long as you don't use those chinese crawfish in it.

How coulld you go wrong with crawfish or shrimp or nutria in a creamy spice sauce with linguini and some crusty bread?

Add a little sausage, some green and red peppers, chopped onion and celery? Even better!
