80 hits in 42 games... simply awesome. If we get to Omaha I think he breaks the 110 hits mark, and the .410 mark will surely get shattered regardless of where we finish.

here's some math to ponder. Raph Rhymes has 80 hits in 159 at bats. He's averaging 3.46 AB per game. With 10 regular season games left, if LSU plays the max 6 games in the SECT, the max 5 games in the regionals, 3 super regional games, and the max 8 CWS games, that would give him approximately an extra 101 at bats. For him to break the LSU school record of .410, he could go 27/101 (.267) and still break the LSU single season record. Pretty amazing. Odds are, however, he won't play nearly that many games and could probably break the record with below a .200 average the rest of the year. The LSU record for hits is 110 by Brandon Larson in 1997. I still think that's gonna be tough to get. Larson had the advantage of playing in 69 games in a CWS title season, so Raph will either have to keep up his pace through the season or hope LSU makes a deep run. He's on pace to have 106 hits in the regular season
Raph could also finish the regular season without another hit and still be batting .412 if his AB per game rate stays the same.

80 hits in 42 games... simply awesome. If we get to Omaha I think he breaks the 110 hits mark, and the .410 mark will surely get shattered regardless of where we finish.
For easy statistics, I assumed the current average of 3.73 AB/game.
ETA: Didn't count the florida game (153AB/41games).
Lose out scenario (worst case):
10 Reg season games, 2 in Hoover, 2 in Regional
~52AB, needs .594 Avg to get to 111, would make season BA = .526
With these other scenarios, the number of ABs varies with wins/losses in each round (and when those losses happen during each tournament). Plus, Hoover is a big variable with anywhere from 2-6 games. So, I'll just provide the min and max ABs for the rest of the season at each level as a reasonable idea of the number of ABs.
Get to Regional & 111 hits:
Min: 14 games, ~52AB, needs .596 avg, finish at .526 for the year
Max: 21 games, ~78AB, needs .397 avg, finish at .468 for the year
Get to Super Regional & 111 hits:
Min: 17 games, ~63AB, needs .492 avg, finish at .499
Max: 24 games, ~90AB, needs .344 avg, finish at .447
Get to CWS & 111 hits:
Min: 19 games, ~71AB, needs .437 avg, finish at .483
Max: 32 games, ~120AB, needs .258 avg, finish at .399
Win it all & 111 hits:
Min: 22 games, ~82AB, needs .378 avg, finish at .460
Max: 32 games, ~120AB, needs .258 avg, finish at .399
TL;DR Summary
Basically, to get both records....
At his current batting average of .503, he needs:
62AB, ~17 games, to get to 111. That would put us needing to get to the Super Regionals.
(Or winning some games in Hoover/ battling through Regionals).
If he does it in less than 29 games (111 ABs), he's guaranteed the BA record.
Enjoy.

2 for 5. Meh. Off day for Rhymes.
Great game and win for the Tigers.
I see Rhymes' closest competitor for the SEC batting title, Ole Miss's Alex Yarborough, went 0 for 6 and dropped below .400.
Rhymes now leads by more than 100 points.
