re: Seat back cushions for season tickets - Mahootney
I don't like them. I'm tall and the leg room is an issue for me. You don't get the benefit of marking your seat area, but as long as you don't mind standing up for your personal space, that isn't an issue....
Serious suggestion...find a computer science student locally and he/she would knock it out in no time.
My college roommate was one of these... let's just say..... he was unusual. I don't mind giving it a try. I mean... if the PSU, GPU, and Ram are plug and play. How hard can that be...

re: Restomod engine selection - Mahootney
I am doing this. I have a 92 LX Notchback. I went with a low compression aluminator motor that can handle boost, since I will probably go with a whipple. More expensive but unless it is a true track car, better off with it for fuel economy too. I considered a 363 stoker motor but really w...
He's swaping drivetrains not chopping and adding hydraulics .
Although I don't think I'll need to modify the towers, chassis, etc., I am open to modern steering/suspension upgrades as I plan on this being a hybrid racer/ 3rd vehicle. It was one of the stipulations for me getting full ...
I hope this car isn't in great shape already bc I'd really hate you for ruining a good 66 mustang. It if isn't, then knock yourself out with it and have fun.
She's got a few blemishes here and there, but the majority of the parts are original. However, this isn't a hidden 500GT gem. ...
FRPP doesn't make the old 351W crate engines like they used to.
I saw that. :sad face: I was looking into doing this about 5 years ago (getting my plan ready for the 50th anniversary of the car). And between then and now, they only do the stroker and the Coyote. I'm not that upset...

re: Restomod engine selection - Mahootney
I had a 65 in high school, you better do a lot of work on the suspension, steering, and brakes if you're going to put 500hp in that thing. As I recall they are a rolling death trap.
I'm upgrading the suspension, drivetrain, steering, brakes, A/C, sound system. The whole bit. I full...

re: Restomod engine selection - Mahootney
The 5.0 is a great engine. But don't overlook the 4.6 either. Super strong design that is wicked with a supercharger.
Choose one and explain why. I also saw a guy that had a "fun" switch. The car sounded normal, but on red lights he'd hit the switch and it would bypass the regular m...

re: Restomod engine selection - Mahootney
66. It's my first car. Time to mid-life crisis the frick out of it. Haha. I want the engine to be enough to really kill it when I want to have some fun, but i don't want so much power that the Mrs. can't use it. So, stroked out 500HP+ beasts might be too much....

Restomod engine selection - Mahootney
I'm rebuilding an old mustang for a daily driver/ sleeper car. So I'm debating on which crate engine to put in it. Option 1: Ford 5.0 coyote Option 2: Ford Windsor-block 351 Any car guys here? Is one obviously better than another?...

re: BR places to help rebuild computer. - Mahootney
Ok. I'm game. If you think it's easy enough to pass on some cash and beer, it must be pretty easy. Should I upgrade the ram while I'm upgrading the rest? Now, I don't know if I have a p67, h67, or z68 mobo. I would guess h67. Not sure if that matters. What is the external drive holder that yo...

re: BR places to help rebuild computer. - Mahootney
I'd rather not do it on my own. I know that the people that have done it before understand how hard/easy it is, and the risks involved. But the most I've done is reformatted a hard drive, reinstalled windows, and looked inside the case (I didn't even partition the hard drive). Now, I don't mind...
