That's awesome! When LSU hires Scott Drew it will make getting Gathers to sign with LSU that much easier.

Man this hurts. The difference between a top 25 team contending for an sec title and a bubble team IMO. Trent better learn how to recruit local talent or he's toast. Can't let these guys get away.

If true, I wish he would've stayed with St Johns. All he did was hold up LSU's recruiting for 4 more months.
He said two weeks ago, he was taking all his visits and giving his final four all a solid look. Good luck to him, but a very bizarre recruitment for what is supposedly a grounded individual.

motherfricker. a huge blow to lsu hoops. This really hurts the chances for this team to make a leap forward in 2013. They now have to recruit a big for depth (and hope o'bryant doesn't make a bad decision and leave, which is unlikely but not impossible). gathers seems like a good guy, just didn't see enough from lsu (and saw a lot from baylor) this year. depressing.

I know some may not believe, but this is not a big loss if he goes somewhere else. He really is not a very good shooter, does not handle the ball well, though he does rebound . I could see him playing football if basketball doesn't turn out. We'll see.
