Does anyone know where the best place to get good poboy bread is here in baton rouge? Like a grocery store, etc. so I can make poboys at home.

Calvin's gets bread from Poupart's in Lafayette. It's excellent for poboys. There are bags of with poboy loaves that are the perfect size. I believe they get them several times a week and I think one delivery date is Saturday. They may get some Leidenheimer's also. I can't recall whether I saw it there, but the Poupart's will be fine.
The bread display is across from the cheese/rotisserie chicken area at the end of an aisle.

Southside Produce on Perkins has Leidenheimer's, Reisling, and one other (Francois or something like that?). I think Fresh Pickins Produce on Coursey may have a similar selection.
Also, I'm pretty sure Hi-Nabor on Drusilla & the Matherne's stores have Reisling & maybe Leidenheimer, set up on the end of the aisles.

Bet R on Perkins gets a French loaf from Waynes bakery in BR, which has an excellent texture.

Ralph's and Hi Nabor on Jones Creek both sell Riesing and Leidenheimer. That's all that is acceptable.

I sometimes get a bag of Banh Mi bread from one of the Asian markets off of Florida Blvd. ... the ones from Phong Doung (spchk?) bakery in New Orleans East ... that's the bread Walker's BBQ uses for their Cochon De Lait Po-Boys at Jazz Fest.

There is a couple that sell baguettes at St. Margaret's farmers market on Saturday mornings. It's on Perkins a block west of Seigen. I wouldn't call it poboy bread, but it is incredible, and I do a lot of bread baking myself. The spinach parmesan baguette sent me home trying to copy it.
