couple things....
word on the street is the Dodgers are not even negotiating with ZLee because they dont want to spend any money, they want the extra pick next year and ZLee told them not to bother
The certified letter from LSU is standard procedure for his parents to receive his official release paperwork. Rest assured this is not how his parents found out CG was not coming back, he called them and told them.
this situation reminds me of the old "I heard you got fired?"
"nah I quit before they could fire me" story we would all hear from a buddy
So Miles doesn't like what he has seen and heard about CG and his attitude/performance. the shite probably hit the fan with the summer workouts and Miles wanted to meet with him to discuss his future. CG has the meeting with Miles, Miles lays out the staff's feelings about CG's time here and probably told him he has no future here. Miles grants him his unconditional release and approves the Moo State provision. CG gets pissed and tells his buddies that LSU screwed him, but in reality he screwed himself. LSU sends his parents the official release paperwork via certified mail. Rant blows up and decides they know more about developing D-1 quarterbacks and managing a roster than a HC with 30yrs experience.
Frankly if CG had the goods to beat out JJ or JL he would have gotten his fair chance. Since the staff has seen his act up close everyday since last summer, I take it they know how to ID a kid that can't/won't cut it. For word to get out to the public that a kid is in the doghouse, it is pretty bad. Kids go in and out of the doghouse all the time. Apparently CG lived in the doghouse for rumors to get out about his attitude and general makeup
I wish him the best, but I am not going to lose any sleep over him

Dude that you know just does not work on the rant, I have even got caught up in this prepetual state of negativity. Of course it starts in the morning watching CNN or Fox it really doesn't matter. LSU is being attacked on all fronts our own fans have turned against us and it starts with Nicky. It is a conspiracy launced by him and Bama nation, because believe me he knows the giant that LSU can be. So he is trying to erode from within and our own people are not catching on. Scary

Good post. I am not a huge Miles supporter but I don't see him handling these situations with anything but good reason and class. Maybe CG wasn't with the program, or maybe he wasn't good enough. I certainly don't think LSU would abandon him without good reason and believe it or not, mutual benefit.

This has to mean Z.Lee is definately on board right. Ole' Les wouldn't be that dumb now would he?

Excellent analysis supatigah.

Then why...

the Moo State provision.
They're looking at a kid who can't crack the 3-deep on the 112th best offense in the country, and say he can't go to another SEC school besides MSU? If he's that damned bad, why would they care?
If only they could...

...before they waste a scholarship and a year and half on him.

We knew we were going to have a lot of attrition this year for the incoming class and it's potential to be one of the best ever. I must admit though it seems odd to have attrition at QB. It's hard to tell whether this was a recruiting numbers decision or more of a personal one for Chris. I was anxious to see him get on the field personally.
We need a QB in this class now and a lot of the bigger names are already off the board. Perhaps some will take another look? At any rate we were all freaking out about the D-line recruiting into February of this year, but Miles landed some big fish. It's only July.

I know that's what I'm saying. Miles has a lot of time, and perhaps knows something we don't. How big of a surprise was Ego and Copeland on NSD last year?
