First I've seen it.

What is a fellah from Ville Platte doing here today, anyway? Shouldn't you be at Fred's by now?

he's not real far off.. he's obviously travelling allot, gets to some pretty good stores and provides a fair assesment.. and obviously likes boudin.. but personally.. I think T-Boy's is too greasy for an A+.. but any given day can be different.. the pork may be fatty or more grissle.. or the cook has a hangover.. all relative.

Uhh this site is LITERALLY posted in every single boudin thread I have ever seen on this site. If people dont know about it by now they dont like boudin.

i like the list and for the most apart agree with his A's, but i think when it comes to boudin is more about what you're accustomed to or grew up on.

Jerry Lee's - I grew up on Jerry Lee's and no matter how many of these places I try, Jerry Lee's is still one of my favorites if not my top.

Don's - love the portions, love the taste, and is convenient for the ride home.

Rabideaux's - huge huge fan of the boudin balls. amazing.

....but i'd be lying to tell you i wouldn't eat boudin from anywhere from south louisiana.

Gee had a really good thread posted about a contest where most of the real contenders participated and some judges that knew what they were talking about rated.

BTW, Gee, had my first taste of Ronnie's Boudin Balls last week, and I think they were the best I have ever had. Loved the crunchy crust. Might have to cross the tracks more often for that treat.

BDevill: If Jerry Lees sucks as you so boldly stated, what venue do you suggest for good boudin?
I recently tasted boudin and hogs head cheese from Jerry Lees and in my opinion, it was the best of both that I've ever had.
If you can suggest a better source tell me who and where they're located.
And thanks.

In my area I like Veillon's the best.

Best I ever ate = Don's.

Jerry Lee's is tasty, but not my favorite.

In my series of blind taste tests, I consistently picked Poche's and The Mowata Store.

Regardless, each individual has his own preference. Some like their boudin livery, some don't. Some like more rice, some like more meat, etc.

Just be glad that we live in south Louisiana and that we're able to have such a great debate.

I used to think Jerry Lees was the bestbut they have taken a drop back.

Current tops in my book Don's, Ronnies smoked and regular.

Tried nunu's a few weeks back but it failed. I was quite disappointed since they had won a top award at the Boudin fest a few months back. I have to say their chicken sausage still kicks arse and is better than any in the state.
