re: 2011 Crossfit Games (ESPN 2)

Overzealous coaches can definitely be a problem -- they bum me out. There is a guy named K-Star who does an online mobility workout associated with CrossFit. Check him out if you have time - we think he's a good resource. And I'm not sure about furthering things, but I do know there is a greate...

I'm with you to a large extent, St. Aug. Even at 48 years old, Herschel Walker could quickly become an elite CF athlete, and with some training on the specific movements, he's someone that could potentially even win the Games (even at 48 years old). That said, I think a lot of folks don't follow...
This. Just because a guy can do 100 pushups in a minute doesn't mean he can catch a ball.
True, but that skill would be among those trained and tested by CrossFit, so the guy/girl who can't catch likely wouldn't win the Games. One of the skills tested at this year's Games (tha...

You are right -- right now, the majority of "elite" CF athletes tend to be around 5'10" / 190-200 lbs. That average weight is probably 10-15 lbs. more than it was a couple of years ago. Because some workouts call for a long run (5k or so) and because the Games require quick recovery in ...

I coach CrossFit. We are part of a physical therapy clinic (one brother is a PT, the other is a trainer). We've sent two athletes to the games over the past three years. I have people ranging from an Army Ranger (back six mos. from Afg.) to a mother of three kids in my classes. Overall, it is a ...

Dez Bryant -- shut out

Posted by trevolution on 11/26/10 at 5:37 am
This is a pretty big deal. The Cowboys organization is a huge, huge believer in him and his value to their potential success. We gave up yards and points, but I am impressed that Dez Bryant was shut out of the game....

I gave been to 3 UT games this year and attendance has been atrocious. The people I went with stayed until the end, and although I've boy seen it this empty, it has been pretty awful....

Considering that ESPN's big story tomorrow (repeated until you either puke or flip over to 'The View') will be that a one win NFL team now has two wins, I really don't know why anyone watches ESPN with their sound on....

Man, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is said to be involved and people are wondering why the people involved aren't fricking TWITTERING about it?...
I'd love to get the short (audio) clip that they played on CBS before the 4th qtr. started the other night -- similar, but short. It always gives me chills when the afternoon games reach the evening and we get the announcement that "the sun will find its home in the western sky and it will b...

She showed up one Saturday morning at the place where I CrossFit for our "open gym" (i.e. - free intro). No one really noticed she was there until we started the warm-ups that included some running, and then you heard a lot of "who in the hell IS that?" whispers. Pretty funny to those of us who ...
