Actually that is essentially exactly what it means.....I mean if Boise St. and Bama would have offered Saban the year he decided to come back you think he would have even thought about Boise St......no, I thought not....that means it is less of a job.

Do you think Boise would even go after Saban? Saban's ego wouldnt allow for that. Would Saban go to Mississippi State?

He is familiar with the Pac10. Maybe he is waiting for Washington St or Stanford or Oregon.

If I was him I would never leave --- even though he is in Idaho --- he makes a good salary, has great job security and gets in the BCS every 2-3 years.

he seems to be pretty happy and there is a lot to be said for that. most likely has much job security as well. don't know his salary, but i bet he makes enough to be damn comfortable and he can achieve financial security easily if he doesn't blow it.

I would say he has a real job. 2 wins in BCS games and 2 unbeaten seasons and an 12-1 season. I think that is a great job and doesnt need to go anywhere.

Just because the school he is at isnt in a BCS conference doesnt mean its not less of a job or not a real job.

Real job = playing Auburn, Bama, UF, UT, Ole Miss, etc. back to back to back.

Gimmick plays only work when you rely on them of one game a year, otherwise it's Busch league and steady solid competition will frick you with them.

BSU is a solid bunch, but in the SEC they go 8-4 at best or 9-3 Big 12/Big 10/Pac-10. As the season goes, top flight competition wears a team down. They have yet to face top flight competition week-in and week-out.

Just speaking for me (and the majority of LSU fans), I'd take Peterson over Leslie.

I'd rather Gary Patterson.

I'd give my left nut for either.

They get through next year undefeated and there are not two big conference teams undefeated, he will get in the big game. However, that doesn't mean Boise can match an offer from a big time, storied program.

what's so bad about making Boise into a "big time, storied" program
