re: Your Best and Worst Airports (Domestic + International)

My issue with ATL mostly has to do with being stuck on the tarmac forever every time I've gone through (I admit not a business traveler).
The airport itself is tremendously efficient. I got delayed going into ATlL and probably would have missed my flight at any airport that wasn't ATL. Tram was great.

I had an unexpected 9 hour layover heading to Hawaii at Houston George Bush and it was horrendous. Every bathroom I went in stunk like shite and had toilets out of commission and overflowing.

Never laid over there.
Only fly Delta and the Delta concourse is like going to a small town port.
If I am there longer than an hour I go to lounge.

Domestic
Best-
DCA - Convenient and usually has their crap together, with San Diego not far behind
I try and avoid
Detroit, Atlanta, Denver...and my least favorite Miami
International
Best - Singapore...best food, best efficiency, etc...Dubai when I fly business is a close second
Ones I hate or try to avoid...Dhaka, Bangladesh (I know off the beaten path but I will never forget luggage was just randomly placed in a football sized field and you had to find it)..., Mumbai, and I hate landing at Heathrow...but do not mind flying out
Bonus...favorite place to fly out of ...Tegucigalpa as it is like a roller coaster...scary but the power of the plane makes it worth it...and RIP to my old time favorite the old Hong Kong airport

You obviously haven’t been to the new one. Oakland gets my vote for worst in US.
Singapore is my favorite international. Moscow the worst.

Best: DAL
Worst: ORD or SLC(if you aren't flying Delta). DEN is great for a connection not so much if you have to deal with security and the other BS.

Agree on this. Denver sucks as a starting or ending airport, but is nice for a connection. When we fly into Denver with kids and have to check luggage and rent a car, it’s often close to 2 hours from landing to leaving in the rental car.
Lot of hate for MSP, but I actually think it’s a good airport with kids. It has ample delta lounges, a playground in one of the terminals, and you don’t have to take a shuttle to rent a car. That’s huge when you schlepping car seats and a stroller.
Someone mentioned Miami it is kind of a dump, except I love how close it is to the beaches and the distance from being dropped off to your gate is nothing. I like Miami’s layout

Worst is Charlotte and it aint even close. Its a shite-hole from top to bottom.

Having a mall in the airport is cool but it's the only walk I've ever had longer than Southwest to baggage claim at SLC

My worst domestic (and maybe worst I’ve ever been in period) is Miami International.

Blows my mind how many of you like ATL. I think it’s a shite show. The concourses are too narrow and crowded and that stupid tram takes forever.
I agree with you. I feel like everyone who loves ATL is just used to it and therefore not bothered. Skyclub was also mentioned and that doesn't count since most people aren't in it. I hate the tram and it's almost unavoidable. I have also been delayed almost every time I've flown through Atlanta.
Best - Minneapolis
Worst - 100% LAX and I didn't even have to think about it. Pretty much everything about it is awful.
International - I agree that London is pretty awful.

C'mon Harry! The rental car situation is an immediate disqualifier for best.

Domestic best - I remember thinking Louisville was a pretty smooth experience.
Domestic worst -Denver or msy. I don’t like having to go miles away to get a rental car via shuttle.
International best - YVR (Vancouver ). Athens Greece
International worst. -cdg paris

Dullles is kind of funny. The United terminal is the worst terminal in the history of aviation. A complete shithole that is horribly designed and even worse if you are in D and have to get on a people mover.
If you aren’t on United, the A and B terminals are extremely nice, modern, and just a quick ride on the train to get to. One of the best terminals out there

Resurrecting this thread after another terrible Orlando experience this morning. Usually have decent luck with Delta but they only had 1 sky priority and 4 regular people working the check-in lines this morning. Had to be at least 500 people in line, it extended all the way down to the American Airlines check-in area.
Ended up using the skycap outside to check my luggage (they open at 4am), best $10 I've ever spent. Likely would have missed the flight otherwise. Our flight is missing about 50 people, was supposed to be full but Delta needed to get the plane elsewhere so gate agents were instructed to go.
TSA pre check line was 2 minutes at 415am, regular line was 10-15 minutes. Lady on plane said her kids were stuck in the regular security line from 450-550am and they barely made it on before doors closed.
The issue with MCO is that Delta, Southwest, and American all share the same security lines so even if Delta is empty, southwest or American could be full meaning security can be a mess. Gate agents said southwest had 4,000 more passengers than Delta today/this week which likely caused the regular line issues
Heed warning if you book a 6am out of MCO

I'm shocked that CLT has not made the "Worst" list. That is by far the worst airport as far as late flights and navigating the airport goes.
