The lack of home training and personal responsibility.

It’s ridiculous. I live on a piece of land along a highway and constantly have to pick up garbage that these trashy MFs toss out their windows.

100% just a few minutes into MS changes the littering scene.
I love my state, but the ppl here are trashy, lazy and nasty af. Plus you have a certain demo who respects nothing.

I live on beautiful and historic Bayou Terrebonne and it’s freakin nuts to see what people purposefully throw in the bayou. Latest example was my shrimper/crabber neighbors across the bayou. Son comes out to their shrimp boat and starts tossing full cold drinks in the bayou, then 15 minutes later the old man comes out throwing plastic garbage bags in the bayou. I can only imagine what they dump in open water.

I actually think a lot of it flys out of garbage trucks and isn’t just people tossing trash out of their windows as the drive.
This is just dumb. A lot of it is trash flying out of the back of pickup trucks. And the poorer an area, the more trash there is. Go to Vermont or out to Utah, very little trash. Why? One they actually give a rip there, two, not nearly as many truck nuts up there. Got dem baws down here. Three, the south is the poorest area of the country, lots of trailer parks and democrats.
Fun fact, the demographic that blatantly litters the most is 15-19 year old males. Look at the trash on the roads right before you get to a high school. Terrible.

This time of year it's all corn and other feed bags blowing out of trucks, the Reds are feeding deer in preparation for season.

What is with Louisiana and littering?
What is with Louisiana and graffiti?
What is with Louisiana and dilapidated public infrastructure?
What is with Louisiana and horrible roads?
What is with Louisiana and ghettos everywhere?
What is with Louisiana and horrific schools?
What is with Louisiana and violent crime?
What is with Louisiana and checked out politicians?
Think there might be a common theme that’s developed here. Maybe it’s the Louisianians that make this so?
Not all obviously, but just enough really garbage human beings to make life miserable for everyone else, completely oblivious to the world around them and so accustomed to seeing it that they only recognize it when they leave the state and then return to their amazement, soon to be forgotten again as they acclimate themselves back to Louisiana as usual.

There's a inverse relationship between a population's education and the level of litter.

The worst is the soiled diapers left in parking lots near or in food deserts

It's a problem everywhere. A byproduct of the decline of society.

I’d agree, but it’s also a level of trashiness that is accepted.
A few years back, I spent a little over a week in Puerto Rico traveling from San Juan to Mayaguez, Ponce, and all points in between, and I can tell you that from for a supposed poorer and lower educated place that has it’s own legitimate gripes of being used by the Federal government, it was so much cleaner and well kept than Louisiana on a whole that it was remarkable really, and that said a lot to me. It undoubtedly has it’s own struggles that are not unlike those found in Louisiana like people moving away, lower paying jobs, higher substance abuse, etc, but I found the people to be extremely friendly and happier overall, their houses to be humble but clean and by in large well kept, and the roads to be much cleaner and in better condition. Even in San Juan, which reminded me a lot of New Orleans in architecture and slum areas, it was significantly in better shape outside of those slum areas.
Overall though, I found that island to be in much better shape than Louisiana on many fronts, and that said everything I needed to know really. Regardless, it was in no means worse than Louisiana, and that’s a fact.

We are northwest of DFW and the major highway 287 was always well maintained but I noticed in more recent days it began to look awfully trashy and unkempt, which has since been reversed
Don't know if it was the result of more businesses - more people - more litter or not mowing to allow the wildflowers to season.
Either way, certainly noticeable and unsightly

Mardi Gras centers around throwing trash on the ground and expecting someone else to come in afterwards and pick it up.
Same can be said for LSU football games.

I’ve been to a lot of stadiums around the country. I’ve never seen a campus trashed as much as LSU after a home game. It’s embarrassing, and those are the more higher end people in the state.

In the not so olden days, we used to make drunk drivers pick up trash. Then if there was more trash to pick up, they would make the parolees and good behavior people pick up trash. There used to be things for these inmates to do to better society to somewhat pay for what they've done.
Fast forward now to where it's considered inhumane and awful to even incarcerate anyone but the hardest murderers and they have the right to full cable tv, air conditioning and to not be asked to do anything. The rest are let free by your Liberal DA's who are supported by your Liberal Governors who is supported by your Liberal Justice dept and President. Isn't the quality of life so great?

No Way. Bama isn't exactly litter free, but it isn't close to the situation in lower LA.
