Looks like some theaters are having 70mm issues.

Reddit - San Antonio audio went out…

Reddit - Irvine

Most are switching to digital formats.

It also appears that it’s the main chains that are experiencing issues (Regal and AMC). Apparently, the projectors haven’t been ran since Dunkirk/Tenent.

Museums seems to be working well due to their use be used more often for documentaries and such.

Reddit - Indiana State Museum

Another cool thing, if you bought tickets for a 70mm IMAX showing, they’re giving away a short deal of film for each Friday showing for the next 3-4 weeks.

Just got home. Incredibly well done. Seemed 15 to 20 mins long in hindsight. I think I know what I would cut out but will save that for the spoilers thread.

So much to think about. But damn, the sense of dread it leaves you with at the end is just heavy. Perfect ending.

Just saw it. So many layers. It wasn’t the Nolan mind bend I’ve come to expect, but it was far more subtle and so much going on. Last 30 minutes moved fast.

It should win Best Picture, Murphy best actor, RDJ best supporting actor, Emily Blount best supporting actress. I’m sure it won’t win all that, but those performances were worthy of all the awards.

I want to see it again. But know, it’s different than what everyone was expecting. Just let it be what it is and enjoy it. Very heavy.

Emily Blunts interview at the end was epic and one of the best scenes I thought. As was Rami Maleks

I think it might have been the speakers as I was sitting on the end of an aisle.

It’s a well done film, but I thought the politics dragged. I was more interested in the science and details that went into the construction of the bomb.

Yeah it seemed like they made the bomb really fast. I kept waiting for that “breakthrough” moment where they have an epiphany and figure out how to make it work but it kinda went from the drawing board straight to “ok it’s ready to test”

Is there a good time to take a pee break in this movie? No way my bladder makes it 3 hours

That’s because the movie really isn’t about the bomb or even the politics.

When the spoilers ban is lifted, this is where the conversation is gonna get interesting.

Dunkirk was shite

I liked it. It and JFK became my favorite movies to cut on and lay down and fall asleep during. That is not a knock at the movies. Dunkirk has damn near zero dialogue and JFK is so damn familiar to me that I don't feel compelled to focus on the dialogue.

Dunkirk wasn’t very mind bending either.

Not mind bending in a sense but the stuff on land took place over a couple of days, shots on the sea over a day, and the air was only an hour or so, and then he spliced it all together.

Yes. I’m glad someone asked.

I went at this moment and it’s about at the 90 minute mark - when Oppenheimer gets a call to go to either San Fransisco and he shows up at the hotel with flowers to see Florence Pugh. I knew that was gonna be the sex scene ( although I was hoping it to be much longer , but I didn’t miss anything as I’d peed during the actual sex scene part and came back ti see Florence titties as they’re talking )

I would suggest that time

We’ve already had seen them previously in the movie and also in other miscues aside from Oppenheimer and also I’d read that the sex scenes were long. The first sex scene was really short so I figured the second would be where you see him plowing arse from behind

That’s the only reason.

Definitely couldn’t have made it the entire 3 hours. Glad I went when I did

I thought it was kinda meh to be honest. Impressive to see Ellen Burstyn at 90 still doing it though.
