you keep talking about Manning's terrible Frosh year with "20" ints. Might want to do some research.
I also heard Leak & Stafford mentioned. All those guys were true frosh. Lee is a RS frosh....big difference.

my complaint is why did we throw it 34 times?
yes!
absolutely!
Posted on 11/10/08 at 3:33 pm to TheDoc
because there was 8 in the box every play because they knew we couldnt throw it

The big issue with Lee right now is that he doubts himself. Most of his mistakes seem to stem from that. In the Auburn game he hit a big pass and temporarily got that confidence back, and was stellar the rest of the game. That's what we will have as our QB down the road (assume that we don't crush his confidence beyond repair now).
Now stop bitching and support your team.

we were pounding it out on the ground..i admit i cringed every time lee was back to pass with that rush coming..but the o-line did a great job for the most part

It's not that big of a difference. Lee's season so far compares relatively well with Stafford's sophomore season or Leak's senior season--and Lee wasn't named a high school player of the year.

whenever Lee is tearing it up later on, I hope none of you guys that are bashing the hell out of him are here posting on this board cheering him on.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING would make me happier than for Lee to find himself and start making the connection between smart decisions and success on the field.
But until that happens, he's throwing an average of almost two interceptions per game, with about a 50/50 chance that every pic he throws will end up being a TD either right away or within four downs.
AND from a Gary Crowton offense where he's averaging around 28 throws a game (I'm giving him credit for 8 full games to allow for the time Hatch played) he's only averaging about 180 yards of passing offense.
That's just no bueno. So, let's all hope really hard that he gets it together before it's too late for him.

Lee = #2 in the SEC for ypg in conference games (and nobody is even a close third)
The guy is shouldering a pretty big load for a freshman.

Exactly right. The game is a blur to him. And he will get better.
And think about how we got into this mess. Our coach said no to B$ from guys Perrilloux and sent him packing even though we had nobody ready to step in.
That has to count for something in that locker room. And it has to mean those players tell today's high school stars that this is a place where stars aren't coddled, where rules are rules and where everybody is treated the same. We have paid a heavy price this year -- Florida killed us, but we could've beaten Georgia and almost certainly would've beaten Alabama with a better quarterback.
But I think we will win many games down the line because of what Miles has done this year.

Lee's been garbage almost the entire season. some of you fools act like this was his first bad game.
Posted on 11/10/08 at 4:36 pm to BMc
Just an observation, does anyone else think Lee is scared of getting hit? It explains the quick throws when receivers are not even coming out of their routes yet? Also explains that abysmal decision to try to dump it to Williams instead of running for the first down.

How impressed where you with John Parker Wilson. He was making the very same mistake's last year. He is now senior quaterback playing for a team that is ranked # 1 and is 9-0 on the year.
Look back at his career at BAma and caunt the interceptions he threw and all the mistakes he made from his Freshamn year to this his senior year.
Lee will mature and the game will begin to slow down for him. He has the talent to be a great quaterback at LSU. He just needs seasoning and experience.

he played bad against the no.1 team in the nation
and the #13 and whatever FLA was ranked and didn't even play all that good against Tulane.

Everyone is being hard on Lee... What would you feel like in his place...? I would imagine he pukes before every game... Look at Miles he has done nothing but ride the train Saban built, He has had 2 solid years to prepare for this day... Ryan was no hope he was a thug and would never improve and this is the only good thing Miles accomplished, getting rid of him... This is the time a coach should show his true colors and I think he has...

True..but what freshman plays lights out..picture-perfect games against every opponent? yes tulane blows & if lee was a soph. right now id have a helluva lot less tolerance for him playing like that..again..think what peyton manning did as a freshman..
Dude, I just want him to complete 50% of his passes and break even with TDs/INTs against someone like Tulane. With LSU's talent, that's completely reasonable. Some is on the coaches, but a lot of Lee's failure comes from his own poor throws and decisions.
The rest I think we're on the same page.
