It is fermented. You do not have to refrigerate.

If the label doesn’t say to refrigerate, I don’t.

It's just like hot sauce or ketchup. You don't have to refrigerate it. But if you want it to retain its intended quality, for a much longer period of time, keep it in the fridge. I don't like separated, watery versions of any of the above so I keep them all in the fridge.

No. I use it way too fast to need fridge. But it was a point of contention years ago when I realized Jones keeps everything in there. Ketchup, hot sauce, etc.

Needless to say, everything is in the pantry these days.

Just a comment.

We needed some about two weeks back and none of the stores had Lee & Perrin, only Hinds, so we are without any at the moment. Worcesstershire is one of those things I only use one brand and nothing else.

I think I can buy 5 gallons at Sams or Costco, but I'll keep lookin at grocer until they get some.

It is a very good ingredient in many dishes.

I do, it retains flavor when stored in a cool dark place, that's why it has a paper wrapper. But I keep a lot of condiments in the fridge door, that way I know where to find them quickly.

There’s always this really weird contingent of posters who take it as a point of pride the amount of things they don’t keep in the fridge

I don't refrigerate it...or ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, either. I just refrigerate things the bottle specifically tells me to, with the exception of a couple of hot sauces that I don't use very often. I sometimes put them in the fridge to keep them fresh a little longer.

I pretty much refrigerate all condiments I know they don’t all need to be kept in the refrigerator, but that’s just a convenient place to keep such things.

If it requires refrigeration, it’s not Worcestershire sauce.

That said, I follow the directions on the packaging. If it doesn’t say “Keep Refrigerated” or “Refrigerate After Opening” the item goes in the pantry.
