I see where UT is the only visiting team to College Station that will use all of it's allotted tickets (3850). One of the many great things about the SEC is the number of tickets required of each school to provide to visiting teams. This just in - SEC teams travel well.

If and when you join the SEC, you will probably have to make 7500 or so tickets available to the opposition. The big schools will always use up their allotment, and it's not uncommon for fans of good programs to arrive without tickets. It makes for a great tailgating experience.

No other conference requires its members to provide so many tickets for the visiting school. A certain percentage of them have to be in the so called "lower bowl", but at LSU we throw in some lagniappe, though we've been working to even this out. Just one more reason that we have so much conference pride. Eat and drink before a game with your opponents' fans, and you earn some respect(except for Ole Miss).

Yeah but College Station makes Baton Rouge look like Atlanta. You'll see an uptick especially everyone's first time around but it won't be as much as you think it will once word gets around about how shitty the trip is.

It's not like that other cities in the SEC are these great destinations. Everyone travels for the game, not for the ambiance of Starkville

Most of the SEC is located in a great college town.

College Station is awful. Not quite Starkville bad but not that far off. I'd rather go to Lexington.

Sounds good, more tickets for A&M fans.

Houston is only 90min away, so we can leave as soon as the game is finished.
We travel well (as with other schools in this conference), so 7500 may not be enough, even in "College Vegas", Texas.

That would be nice. No more 830 tix sold to Baylor crap and then we buy 30,000 at their crappy joint. GD leaches. I can't wait for SEC game days.

Lexington is probably in the top half of SEC towns...

I've had fans of Auburn, UGA, LSU, UF, UT and USCe all tell me it is in the top 2-3 SEC towns. A lot of people on TD just haven't been here since most fans here are from the West, so they just assume it's unremarkable. Keeneland is probably the greatest place on earth.

Even an Aggie wouldn't be stupid enough to coin an idiotic phrase like that.

I am not quite sure what will happen those first few years in terms of that. Byrne will not give up the student side. While you guys have a conference that makes everyone give up 7500 tickets, hardly any other school gives out 30,000 to students. I also don't see Byrne giving up seats for the blue hairs, so it may just be the tickets that are given out to Stubhub and other online vendors.

Well, the stadium expansion plans have definatly been pushed into high gear. I have no doubt that if and when we actually become SEC members, we will be able point towards a timeline.

At this point, I would tell y'all to come to College Station - you'll enjoy the people and the trip. We'll catch up to the rest of you boys in a couple years!

You won't need it since you announced you're playing as independent if not in SEC in 2012 lol.

Watch out where you get your info from, 4LSU...

That doesn't make any sense at all.
