Let's be realistic: the reason USCe is attractive is because the pressure to win and the expectation of success is not in the same stratosphere as other programs in the league. It's a perfect stop for say, an older coach who can be relatively competitive without breaking a glass ceiling, get paid handsomely and then ride off into the sunset.
Sound familiar?

We were trying to win a title every year, weren't ya'll the years you didn't? I think the pressure is higher now for a HC to succeed b/c we had a good run and showed that you can have success here. Had Spurrier been younger (and not made his son Recruiting Coordinator,) we probably would have won some more hardware.

SC isn't getting their #1 choice if UGA, for example, also wants that guy.

I don't know about that, there are several variables here that I don't think you're considering. Why did Richt leave, was he fired? If Richt is fired this year, he's still owed $16M on his contract. Plus UGA signed several Asst Coaches this year to multi year deals. Pruitt has a $1.3M contract for another 3 years.

If UGA cleans house, they aren't going to have the $ to compete with us. We had more than $2M more in profit than them last year in our Ath Dept. We won't have to pay Spurrier or the majority of the coaches anything, as their contracts expire in January (except Whammy $750K.)

Our new facilities are already in place (except for the new Coaching Suites/Offices, but those are approved and funded, so they'll be done next year.)
UGA still practices on a 20 yard field when they want to practice indoors. We have new player dorms/suites, and I'm pretty sure our weight room was never untainted by having Colt Ford and a pimply face high school kid shoot a music video there.

Finally, I'll put Ray Tanner up against whoever their AD is any day of the week. HC's love to work for AD's who were former championship level HC's. They know what it takes to get there and about the struggle.

With all that said, Uga isn't getting rid of Richt this season, their AD doesn't have the stones or it would've happened already. They don't want to mess with their recruiting class. They are too financially committed right now to the current staff.

There isn't a buyout to Richt's contract like that. It's all been out in the press since the 2012 extension. Educate yourself before you look foolish.

As for the IPF, the one that breaks ground in 2 months is going to be top 3 in the nation, and likely will cost more than all of Williams-Brice. Once it's complete in 2017,what are you going to crow about? The Carolina IPF is a glorified horse barn.

You need to educate yourself apparently on your own HC's contract. I don't believe I was correct about the $16M now, but there absolutely is a buyout.

Here the AJC article talking about he similarities in Fox and Richt's contracts with McGarity.
https://www.athleticbusiness.com/college/georgia-coach-signs-extension-sans-buyout-clause-br.html

quote:

Conversely, Georgia wouldn't have to pay him as much if it chose to fire him. According to the previous contract, UGA would have had to pay Fox 100 percent of the remaining compensation after March 31, 2016. That will be reduced to 25 percent of the total owed, which would be $800,000 in 2017 and $400,000 in 2018. That's just like football coach Mark Richt's new contract and in keeping with McGarity's general philosophy.

So Richt Signed a contract in January 2015, Fox in March 2015. If Richt is fired before January 2016, he is owed 100% for that year (not all the years like I thought, so only $4M, not $16M for all the years.)

haha, no, now you're just making stuff up.

Probably that y'all spent a lot of money to build another 20 yd practice field.

South Carolina is the Arkansas of the east. Will also be second fiddle to Clemson and they will always be 4th or 5th fiddle in the east to recruits

No fan support and no money

It's a tier 2 job imo

Despite you saying it multiple times throughout the years, we don't practice in that facility. We use it for walk through and offseason conditioning. If we need an indoor facility we travel to Flowery Branch and use the Falcons one.

A&M is the only program in the nation that could get a bathhouse and I'm not surprised at all. It's almost like they try to look gay now

The AJC guy said that it's like Fox's, but I don't have a copy of the contract so I don't know for sure. The contract would be available to the media though with the FOA.

I don't know if you saying y'all have to drive an hour each way to practice indoors is any better.

Scar is an elite job period. Facilities, fanbase, and money are all there. Only thing lacking is history, which have already started with Spurrier. Scar is a destination right now.

Did I say it was better or worse? Nope, I just said you can stop saying we use the 20 yard facility for practice.

What are cones there for?

Y'all do use it for multiple purposes though,
Banquets

Waiting in line for the bathroom

Grabbing some pole

and of course music video sets.
