Serious question, no flaming. Just don't really understand the confidence in that hire. He isn't really lighting it up in the NFL right now and his teams in college were stellar but he never won a natty. Not trying to be a Jimbo homer but I just see him as a better target even if he may be impossible to snag.

same reason Alabama wanted Saban after "not lighting up the NFL"

I don't want him either, but using NFL success as your barometer is frankly....stupid

Anyone who wants Chip Kelly really hasn't done much research about him.

Because some of us like awesome coaches. Some don't though, hence this thread.

How'd Saban do in the NFL?

Or Pete Carrol?

Or Steve Spurrier?

Yeah but Saban had won a natty here at LSU. That's not exactly a good argument.

He's done well in the NFL given his QBs, especially in his first year

innovative & his program attracts great athletes. develops QBs. pair him with a good DC and you have a great chance of winning

He is 48-4 as a college head coach at a school that sucked its entire existence

I don't want Chip Kelly's little man syndrome attitude anywhere near Baton Rouge.

The guy had 12 wins in 3 of his 4 years at Oregon and had 10 wins in his worst season. At Oregon. Pretty sure he'd do fine at LSU, I'm not riding for Chip or anything but look at our current coach's record before LSU if you want to see why that hire probably wouldn't turn out that badly
