I agree you should add les miles to the list. A raise could keep a coach.

Good suggestion with Briles. Brady Hoke is another one who would be good.

Ferentz has a lifetime job and low expectations in Iowa. He's chillin.

June Jones is a name I've heard.....and man I'd be pissed

It's painful reading these threads because our fans think that every coach in America, college or pro, just thinks they're going to be falling all over themselves for this job. It doesn't work that way. Hiring a guy like Mullen from State would even be difficult because of the dynamics surrounding him showing interest and us not offering.

Really?

Well lets take a look.

quote:

Gary Patterson - HC at TCU (Maybe, not yet proven IMO) Gus Malzahn - OC at Auburn (This guy was coaching high school 6 years ago...no thanks.) Tommy Tubberville - HC at Texas Tech (Meh, nothing outstanding if he were hired.) Mike Leach - former HC at Texas Tech (God no) Bo Pelini - HC at Nebraska (Might not be bad, but I dont think he would leave Neb.) Dan Mullen - HC at Mississippi State (Not a bad choice, wouldnt have to bitch about offense) Skip Holtz - HC at South Florida (Not really proven, but might be worth a shot) George O'Leary - HC at Central Florida (No Thank You) Kurt Ferentz - HC at Iowa (At this point, do we ever think he would leave) June Jones - HC at SMU ( ) Pat Fitzgerald - HC at Northwestern (Meh, nothign outstanding) Jack Del Rio - HC of Jacksonville Jaguars (probably couldnt get him anyway) John Fox - recently fired coach of Carolina Panthers (He's going to get another shot in the NFL)

I could live with these. Maybe add Brady Hoke and Doug Marrone.

I'm a big John Fox fan, but I don't know how he'd do in college. I just looked up and he spent 1978-1988 in the college ranks, but a lot has changed since then.

What about Butch Davis? Say what you want, but he can recruit and coach. And he ran a clean program at UM, before everyone talks about the two players who went to an agent party this past year.

June Jones is one hell of a coach. Would be a wierd choice for LSU, but still. The man can flat out coach.
