Ok, let's help Joe Aleva out. We will compile a list of candidates for him to consider. This thread will disappear if Les takes his name out of the running for the Michigan job.
These are mostly realistic, with a sprinkling of pie-in-the-sky...
In no particular order:
Gary Patterson - HC at TCU
Chris Peterson - HC at Boise State
Gus Malzahn - OC at Auburn
Tommy Tubberville - HC at Texas Tech
Mike Leach - former HC at Texas Tech
Butch Davis - HC at North Carolina
Doug Marrone - HC at Syracuse
Brady Hoke - HC at San Diego State
Bo Pelini - HC at Nebraska
Dan Mullen - HC at Mississippi State
Skip Holtz - HC at South Florida
Gary Pinkel - HC at Missouri
George O'Leary - HC at Central Florida
Kirk Ferentz - HC at Iowa
June Jones - HC at SMU
Kevin Sumlin - HC at Houston
Art Briles - HC at Baylor
Pat Fitzgerald - HC at Northwestern
NFL Guys:
Gregg Williams - DC for New Orleans Saints
Jack Del Rio - HC of Jacksonville Jaguars
John Fox - recently fired coach of Carolina Panthers
John Gruden - former NFL coach
Mike Nolan - DC for Miami Dolphins
Cam Cameron - OC for Baltimore Ravens
Kyle Shanahan - OC for Washington Redskins
Brian Van Gorder - DC for Atlanta Falcons
Who am I missing?

Christ that is an awful looking list. If he leaves......we are up shite creek my friends.

Can I just say that almost everyone of those is a step down from Miles.

who on there would be better than what we have other than Patterson?
I say none.
Im not a fan of the nfl head coaches. Those guys have been in the NFL for some time now. I say our recruiting would hurt very much unless we get a guy like wilson as one of the assistants.

I for one would love Patterson or Gruden. Both bring instant intensity and I really doubt we would lose recruits if we brought in these guys.

isn't Ferentz a little mediocre?

Dan Mullen could be a good one.

Really? There are some well-qualified candidates on that list---but I don't think Miles is going anywhere.
