No way an LSU fan should have Coach O as their #1 choice just that simple.

He lost to BAMA in the same fashion Les teams lost to BAMA. Funny how other schools with less talent can find ways to score 11 or more freaking points but LSU under O or Miles can't.

His ability to motivate players is very good but just seems it would get old and it runs a fine line. LSU teams under Coach O have become like "Miami of old" with their antics on the field. It could easily get out of control with the wrong players.

UF game was the one that lost it for me. No way LSU should have lost that game. A 14.5 favorite at home and you LOSE? So if coach O was good enough to be LSU coach he couldn't find a way to just win that game? It's basically Les Miles 2.

Coach O hasn't even been a college coordinator since Ole Miss except for the 8 games as HC interim at USC. Would anyone else even be looked at with this resume?

I like Coach O but if wants to be a HC again at a big time school he needs to go to a smaller one and have success then he might get another look from a big time program until then he is what he is..

Every good/great coach has a knack. Whether it's offense (Fisher) or defense (Saban). O is a fantastic recruiter and dline coach......but it stops hard at that.

Couple that with having the opportunity to hire a proven commodity (not an emotion injected interim) and the decision is obvious.

Red Zone and Time management gaffs under Miles, continued to rear their head under O.

From 2007-2016 my fav team was Army. One side of my entire fam lives in Chi or surrounding. WTF is up with this?

And I didn't go to West Point, just an Army grunt.

Sorry I don't have an LSU fav to not confuse ppl.

For me it's the fact that NO other top ten program would have Coach O anywhere on their radar if they had a HC position to fill...NONE. Remove emotion from the equation and look at his resume. He's a CAREER d-line coach who's never even been a DC. He had a 3 year major failure as a HC and two very good stints as an interim coach. He's was easily the right guy to man the program once Les was let go, but we did not almost fire Les last year and ultimately let him go this year with the idea of targeting Ed Orgeron as our HC.

Orgeron has done a very good job as interim coach. He's a good recruiter. As a Head Coach can he compete with Urban Meyer or Nick Saban, the gold standards?

He is neither an offensive or defensive savant. Does he have the same legendary attention to detail that Meyer or Saban command?

That's who you're up against.

Orgeron isn't a home run hire. However I like him better than Fedora, Fuentes and a host of others.

Not a leader, allows players to dictate to him who plays. If he is the hire we will be looking for a new coach by the end of his 3rd year.

I thought Les Miles was coaching in Baton Rouge last week. The team looked, unprepared, uninspired, and undisciplined. Beating bad teams, when you have the talent LSU has, doesn't make you head coach material.
