If O runs the table unless there is a handshake deal in place right now, he keeps his job. That would be an amazing turnaround.

if LSU wins out, they're in the playoffs (I would have to assume with wins over UF, Bama, aTm, and Arkansas) with an 11-2 record (winning the SEC championship vs UF or Tennessee)

from two early season road game losses to wisconsin and auburn, to getting to the playoffs would be one of the biggest turnaround in college football history.

I wish there was a way coach O could be retained in any capacity with LSU for 2017, but I honestly don't think that is happening, sadly.

not as HC or DC, but as D-line/recruiting coordinator... I don't think O sticks around under a different coaching staff though with aspirations of being a HC somewhere.

If Herman and Fisher both say no, then yes.

Why in gods name would you want coach O as the HC.

he was 3-21 in the SEC as HC.

The question was if he ran the table would we want to keep him. The answer would be yes. His record at Ole Piss would mean nothing. Look at the schedule and how those teams are performing. Taking this team, the way it has performed through the first four games, and run the table....that is a hell of a job.

But, I don't think it matters. I think the new coach has already agreed to a deal and O knows it. This is his opportunity to prove himself.

The record at Ole Miss would mean nothing?

He recruited those teams and built those Ole Piss teams. He did not build either USC or LSU.

I hope he gets the job then you will realize what a mistake making him the HC was.

Hey at least you can say we had a LS guy as HC. Dumbass

go hire someone else. Orgeron winning with Les' team doesnt tell me a whole lot.

Are you serious?? Les couldn't win with Les' team. If Orgeron were in some miraculous way able to get us to Atalnta then he absolutely earned it!!

Sorry, the woodford is going down smooth tonight. I forgot something. The new coach has already agreed to a deal and O knows it. But O is not going to be the LSU coach next year. This is his chance to prove himself worthy of another shot as a head coach.

As far as you hoping he gets the job just so I can see it was a bad hire....you are worse than the douchebags that were hoping LSU would lose to Jacksonville St. just so Miles would be fired. Make a bad hire to make you feel good about yourself. GFY

I seriously doubt any coach has agreed to anything yet.

So, you are saying that people can't fail, evaluate themselves and improve themselves over the next 10 years. Yes, his record from 10 years earlier would be irrelevant if he went 6-0 in the SEC regular season and 7-0 counting the championship game. 6 of those wins would be against ranked teams.

I don't think he runs the table, but it would have been a heck of a job. I figure Les would have gone 4-4 at best.
