I was told the same thing yesterday...and that Muschamp is going to be DC but some of the current staff will be retained. The option was given to Les on how it goes down...he either bows out or is fired. It was left up to him but the buyout will of course still be owed. Didn't know how legit the info was so I kept my mouth shut. It appears to have legs though.

Gonna miss the ole boy but it was definitely time.

Uncle Stu, I've heard that exact story from a guy who is pretty high up

My buddy was invited to a Texas game watching party a month or so ago with some of his law firm UT alums. I got to tag along and just sat back while they got wasted and started getting into the whole Saban saga

One of the big cigars was there and pretty much said the same thing you did. Said Saban and them had a handshake deal assuming that the Mack situation was done properly.

When that whole mess went down he got cold feet. The big brass at UT was pissed

I was going to say something like this to him as well. Bet he adds another one to that list this week too.

Saban does have a heart. He just could not stand the way they did poor Mack. I wonder how Jimbo feels about what LSU is doing to his former boss?

When Saban writes his autobiography in retirement , you Gumps will shite when you learn how close it was to happening.

Should have held out for Herman. Watching the two teams this year (and last year's OSU) I'd be WAY more afraid of Herman.

As a UF fan I approve of the hire.

No fricking clue why you would say this considering they have beaten you 4 of the past 5 times and like going to be 5 out of 6 after Saturday.

Yeah, that's one of my concerns.

Jimbo might not want to be the guy who 'pushed' Miles out.

Chip Kelly? Chip Kelly doesn't care. If Jimbo falls through, Chip Kelly gets the job, IMO.

I've heard the same from my cousin who went to camps from Saban's tenure until Fisher left.

i dont think any of us gumps are saying it was not in the works but the final deal is he stayed. I bet with these behind the scenes talks to Sexton has had many offers come his way that was too good to refuse. But guess what coonasses. He is finishing year 9 with the chance of a 4th natty

Because while at UF ol Boom was totally clueless on the offensive side of the ball.

FSU won in Meyers final yr in which he had already phoned it in and Muschamp was just not the man for the job

bullshite, many of you said "He would never leave/consider leaving Bama for another school."

All I'm saying it many have no idea how close it was to happening. It will come out, likely by Saban.
