I dont know that they were afraid, but the wapo article did include statements from players that helped counter the narrative mulkey is anti gay. The statements were attributed to dealings with Mulkeys lawyers. Safe to say they weren't there because wapo believes in fairness. ...

Of course Milkey was defensive. She's been open about the issues with her father in the past. Finding out the reporter was spending time with him and promising former players anonymity for negative stories obviously didn't sit well with her. Doesn't really seem that complicated. ...

It was always a hit piece. Dude was contacting her family and former players under false pretenses. It explains why mulkey was livid. I know more about her family now than I do the Bidens. It's insane....
