most programs id say no, Lane wouldn't be looking to leave. However, Coach O might be able to recruit Lane away from Saban.

The benefit to Lane would be come to LSU make another offense successful and show that he can keep his nose clean under someone other than Saban and he becomes a better prospect for head coach of a school than if he is just Sabans toy.

Did O's time at SC overlap with Starkisian the first time around? He seems a more available candidate. I don't see Kiffin wanting to work under Orgeron when he used to be his boss. And if he's looking to be a head coach again--and we all know he is--it's better to continue to learn under Saban than for a coach with O's current resume. I think Kiffin is at Bama until he gets another HC job. Which could be this year, at which case, I'd imagine Stark slides in for him there. He's still got some rep repair to do.

I actually think this to be some what true. I think they brought in Sark because Lane might be on the out. He has done a phenomenal job at Bama, but I doubt he likes his "arse chewings" on live tv.

If Coach O gets the job, everybody better get over their hatred of Kiffin because that's who it'll be.

I don't think anyone would hate Kiffin as an OC. Him as the HC at LSU would be an absolute crapfest. He shouldn't be the HC unless all other options have died or left the country.

What makes you think Kiffen is gonna do a lateral move? His next job will be a head coaching gig somewhere

Maybe this would be an issue, but for some reason I just don't look at it that way. O was very loyal to Kiffin when he needed him and then Kiffin saw first hand what he was able to do with that SC team, when he couldn't. I just hope Kiffin would put his ego aside on this one...but, I guess time will tell!

I'd be fine with Kiffen but I don't see it happening for several reasons.

He seems to have rehabbed his image enough to where someone is likely going to give him another HC job. Unless he's had an epiphany that he's just not HC material but with his ego I doubt that's the case.

Lane would be a good choice.

Other great offensive minds with erratic HC success:

Gus Malzahn

Houston Nutt

Kendal Briles. We have everything he needs to have an explosive offense year one.

Hire him as Co-OC(WR coach), and keep Craig as Co-OC(QB coach)

Briles only gets paid 250k, and giving him 900k-1mill should bring him here.

Our fanbase is retarded if they have an issue with Lane as oc.

I don't think he would leave Bama for another oc job except for we have coach O

That's a possibility. We'll have to pay less than the last yahoos that employed him though.
