Why are all of these posters on the Rant disagreeing with all of these LSU coaches and recruits?

This should be a great recruiting tandem of Wilson. Bebe. And Steele. Still concerned about DC duties with Steele.

Tactically losing Steele?

Seriously he's not a big loss. He wasn't doing much.

When was the last time you were in awe of Chavis' defensive strategy?

Choctaw - I was livid yesterday but feel good today. Yeah, I probably jumped the gun, but seeing how it is now developing, maybe I was wrong. Let's see how the spring and next season plays out. I'm behind Miles on these two.

It's easy to comprehend. I've been chirping for a few years that Bama has a recruiting staff that rivaled nfl scouting departments. These guys don't have just the coaches scouring film, they've got dozens of employees that do all kinds of things from identification to marketing.

Imagine an nfl team pre-draft. They watch film and analyze hundreds of prospects. Then the best talent evaluators on staff make a "big board" of who they covet and in what order.

Steele has handled this recruiting department for Bama and organized thier "big board" for defense,

Apparently chavis was lazy in recruiting and didn't do anything like this to prioritize targets and identify the best. Now Steele will provide this service. It's a HUGE upgrade. Now we can finally get our total recruiting department where it should be.

And got his recruiting education from O at Ole Miss and Tenn.

I remember you saying this last year when we lost Cam Robinson.

Very informative on how big recruiting has gotten from a day-to-day standpoint.

could explain why we recruit sporadically with DL and LB. Funny how we either were loaded or very very thin at LB and DL. It was almost like the DC wasn't paying attention to who was coming and leaving. Reactionary

And for the dopes who said Steele didn't do anything at Bama, I doubt they paid him $700K to do nothing. Read the comments by Saban regarding Steele. I am not saying Steele is going to be awesome, but he may not be what we are thinking. Who knows what types of position coaches and players he had when he was the DC at Clemson. Maybe a sit back and wait approach would be a reasonable idea. ??

He's talking about recruiting boards, who they have, what positions they need, where are the best players to feel such need, who's they will be losing etc. Create a plan and map, deliver it to the assistants to go get these players.

They also have 3 to 4 times LSU's recruiting budget. Having cats like Wilson, Steele, O (and even Miles) is wonderful and the reason we're a top 10 program (on paper) over the past 10 years, but not giving them the resources is like putting 87 octane gasoline in a Ferrari.
