Well, I'm convinced. #teardrop

sounds like confusion and/or disagreements on the defensive player chart among the defensive coaches...

anyone had a peek at any gump message boards since the hires?

Tactically losing Steele? Competing with he and Coach O in recruiting?

Frank is right on the recruiting and hopefully the D performance can be what it was, which is #1 in the SEC, but....these guys don't coach QBs

Well we know Steele can coach LBs because he did so at Alabama. So I guess your question is, can O coach DL?

Answer: He has coached DL almost everywhere he went, both in the pros and in college.

Sounds like they have had some disorganization/disagreements on defensive recruiting lately.

Who is going to coach the overall schemes and call the defensive plays? (thats what he meant)

You can have the best position coaches on the planet and have a terrible defense if you have a terrible coordinator.

Also probably has to do with the fact chavis loved turning safeties into linebackers and Steele is more proned to the traditional sized linebacker. Can't tell you how much its sucked watching our smaller linebackers get run over. It got much better with minter last year and now with Steele I expect it to get even better.

You can't say this or you will be labeled a pessimistic negatiger.

But yes I agree, Steele's defensive schemes and adjustments are TBD.
