If Les is staying, fine, but he NEEDS to get a real OC.

Agreed... He also needs to let them do their job
Make Steele the LB coach, get a DC or promote Ed O
Get rid of BDP

Now hold on just a minute. Earlier in the thread you explained that the problem with miles' offense is the offensive coordinator, not miles. According to your logic, the offensive coordinators miles has brought in have all just been individual failures, implementing their own systems and wrinkles.

Now here you are harping on mettenberger being in the same system at Lsu. His first year he was in studrawa's system and wrinkles. His second year he was in kragthorpe' system and wrinkles with studrawa calling the plays. His 3rd year he was in Cameron's system and wrinkles.

So now which one is it?

Ever since the '08 season he hasn't just let an OC call an offense completely.

You are, you are going to be unhappy if Les returns or unhappy if we don't get Jimbo. After a few rough games you will probably attack the new coach as well.

Go ahead and find one post of mine saying anything about jimbo fisher. I'll be here anxiously waiting.

Can you link this, or is this just how you read something I typed, I mean it wouldn't be the first time to read something and interpreted the way you wanted in this thread.

Especially since I've said numerous times Les needs to be hands off on the offense and let his coordinator do his job.

Can I get a link to where I said this as well?

Look I understand you want Les gone.... you've made it clear, but trying to twist what I've typed isn't working for you. First it was about Les being my first choice or me being a Miles fanboy, now you've switched to this. If Les is fired it won't bother me, if he stays it won't bother me. Les has been more good than bad during his tenure and people now fail to realize this. Instead they focus on the 3 games this year and those game last year. with Mett the previous year LSU was pretty good, they just didn't have the results fans wanted and blew the bowl game.

22 passes a game is adequate, huh? Well, Michigan man Jim Harbaugh has just thrown 24 pass attempts in the first half of "The Game". He's trampling on Schembechler's grave.

Don't think Jim has ever been your traditional ground and pound coach.

HIs first year at Stanford they attempted 35 passes a game
2nd year 24 passes a game, 3rd year 24, and 4th year 30. Helps when you have Luck though

So basically install new OC, DC, LB coach, and special teams coach? All of which were the most recent Les Miles hires? Yeah, I see no problem with the Les Mile program....

No Steele currently works with LB I believe so he isn't new.
Cam is gone regardless so a new OC is a must
DC could just promote Coach O because Steele is not returning to that position
Special Teams, meh this is the first year I think fans know the name of the special teams coach.

Our current offensive coordinator has a long career in the NFL and college football. Never has his offenses been so one dimensional. This is the Les Miles offense.

Cam got fired in Baltimore because his offense was outdated and one dimensional.

Is that you, Les?

You're right, it's really no big shake up....like the big shake up the fans are demanding....

He made a bad hire? It happens...

because he was available, LSU needed an OC, he had NFL pedigree

Not necessarily.

Ironically, if Southern Miss had fallen off the map this year, Todd Monken would be the #1 candidate.

There are 120 schools, and only ~10 can afford to pay assistants the kind of money LSU can pay. If Miles wants someone, he'll be able to afford a 'real' coach as OC.

Same story with every OC since Fisher. In year one, they are allowed some freedom to install things they want, and it works. In year two, if things aren't perfect, Les starts to exert more influence. If they make year three, it's a disaster.

In 2013, we saw pro-style route trees, and more shotgun and single back. More 3-5 WR sets. More balance. Now we look like a team from 1985. It's the same repeating pattern.

Thomas McGaughey was ST coach before Peveto, I'm pretty sure.
