Comparing the two most popular candidates for OC

Recently, the two most popular candidates for LSU on this bird have been Lane Kiffen and Art Briles. I made a comparison of the two and thought I would share.
Art Briles, whether you like it or not, has revolutionized the college spread offence. He does not use a play book (uses a numbering system). This allows him to run the offense as fast as he wishes; up to 11 seconds between snaps. The most common thing and individual would do is look at Baylor hang 70 points on TCU and say "Well, doesn't he throw %90 of the time?". His play call ratio is actually about %75 percent run/play action. Quarterback wise, the most impressive thing I have seen him do is put Jared Stidham after Seth Russel was injured, and have equal success.
Game plan wise, many of his concepts consist of a mix of multiple principals. He mixed his passing game with a pro style attack and plays that consists of a cover 3 and cover 2 beater. His run game combines mostly inside zone, outside zones, and zone reads. I did like when he still hung a significant amount of points on Oklahoma even though he was dominated on the line of scrimmage.
Art's obvious cons are the allegations that he had at Baylor, as well as his inexperience in the SEC.
Lane Kiffen on the other hand has done an excellent job on doing well with the playmakers he has. His ability to change his philosophy based on the talent he has is excellent. When he arrived, he looked at the playmakers that he had. He had Blake Sims (A dual threat quarterback), and Amari Cooper. So, He designed a spread offence based off of these two players. Then in 2015 he saw that he had Jacob Coker (An pro style quarterback, game manager) and Derrick Henry (A big and physical back that won the heisman). So he created a pro style passing attack with a smash mouth run game. This year is another spread based on using Jalen Hurts as a passing and running threat.
The cons to Lane Kiffin are that he has been notorious to have discipline issues. He also has a good chance of going to a low tier university as a head coach.

art briles is not a legitimate option. 0% chance he is signed especially with Alleva as AD
Its a travesty that LSU isn't even going to gauge interest from Matt Canada.
Kiffin would be a mistake

Don't want this gimmick Briles offense. If it was that great everybody would be doing it. Chip Kelly tried that in the pros and it didn't work too well. This offense allows a weaker opponent an advantage over a stronger one. Didn't work too well for Oregon when they went up against an sec defense. It's a TX high school offense. I'd like a mix of power spread and pro style.

Let's not forget the dumpster fire that was Kiffin prior to coaching for Saban. Is he a much better coach now or is it because Saban knows when to crack the whip?

Top two right here.
Anyone suggesting Briles loses all credibility.

The best thing about hiring lane kiffen is getting him away from the gump factory lol. Just think of how bad he would want to beat Saban if he came to us . Don't you think he's tired of getting his arse chewed out by saban on national tv every game ..and then tell the whole press after the game that he "gave kiffen an arse chewing , when asked bout it

You literally have no idea what you're talking about. The Oregon/Chip Kelly offense isn't the Briles offense. Briles's offense is predicated on the power run and he had one of the biggest OLs in the country.
His offense is literally power run to set up the vertical passing game but spread out and using the hurry up. There isn't anything gimmicky about it.

Regardless if the allegations are true or not, anyone thinking Briles has any shot or even should be considered has zero business experience or just lacks the ability to analyze things from all angles. Would be great coordinator, but....
He is untouchable, folks.
Kiffin and Sark are 1a/1b
Canada is 2

Id personally love Briles. Many many years ago he said something that was so simple but really made sense when asked about how he recruits his offensive skill players. He said, "I could care less about star ratings. What I really want is speed. I want the guys who were untouchable when they played tag. Get the ball in their hands, and the rest is fun to watch."
Its also amazing how many people just assume "spread offense" is 80% passing. He ran a very heavy run offense. Hell I always had Baylor rb's on my college fantasy teams bc they always had a ton of yards.

1. Chip Lindsey
2. Oh Canada
3. Kendall Briles
Would be my wishlist.

Correct. He needs to look up Baylor's rushing stats & yards/rush. Not advocating for Art, but his rushing attack looks a lot different than LF7 running into a brick wall play after play.

How about you hire Sterlin Gilbert (Briles system protege) as the OC and hire Briles as a shadow coach over seeing the progress behind the scenes. Don't really have the PR nightmare but get the benefits of that system until Briles gets another gig

Is kiffin offense based off of knowledge or a nfl offensive line every year.their running backs also look good but dont do in the pros their quarterbacks do good but dont go to pros. If the o line is dominant and they give time then they all look good. Plus ifyou have a donminant defense your offense can take chances more often.just like kirby smart looked like a genuius running saban defense. If he is that good of an oc why not at tennessee and usc? Jist a little skeptic
