Correct, especially if they are Texans.

I can do it too

My sources at Texas tell me that they will still pursue Saban, but they may have to go to the next tier of candidates.

That article seems to confirm my biases of what I believe transpired. It at least passes my smell test, but that's kind of how I viewed the whole thing, only without the same level of confidence he'd leave.

that said, I don't believe that final tidbit at all. You don't put stuff like that in an email.

I will give him credit for whipping up his base. He did a very good job of that. Tell them what they want to hear, and page views will follow.

this article is a collection of message board rumor non of which has ever been confirmed only given the "my sources" tag of the internet

therefore it is very safe to assume that everything in this article is fiction

And its so cute that yall still hope someone will come in here and take away Lord Saban so you might be able to win something again.

like I said, since Saban arrived at Alabama in 2007, he and Miles have the same number of SEC titles...

Keep telling yourself that. Maybe you'll start believing it.

it's not a "they scared" situation or a dick measuring contest

Texas truly wants Nick Saban as their coach and they are going to try and do that so why wouldn't LSU fans put it on the coaching changes section of their site?

it's just not going to happen

If Saban does stay in Bama and LSU gets everybody on their recruiting wish list, Miles over the next three years may go 3-0 against Saban.

I never thought he'd go. And I think not even more now.

Someone could have written this story simply by reading all the "Saban to Texas" reports and filling in explanations for them. Sort of like how some Christians think Isaiah "predicted" Jesus when really early Christians just interpreted Jesus in the light of the scriptures.

The other fishy thing about the story: those numbers are astonishingly huge. 10 years, even after he retires? Too much for the imagination.

However, somebody has to account for how quite a few responsible news people had the impression a deal was done. Either Texas people were trying to create fact by inciting rumor or something really was going on.

i don't think those numbers are fishy...if Nick were to leave, his contract will read more like $8 million per year, but there will be a lot of under the table money (eg, high dollar speaker fees) to add to the package.

I do find it hard to believe that they would pay him his salary even after he retires. That may have been asked but I am guessing that it would be structured differently.

There is a lot of smoke to this and I agree they will make a hard run at him after the bowl game and there will be less"heat" on saban now that he signed the extension which is meaningless in the grand scheme
