I'm beyond pissed at Alleva and FKing and whoever else helped make this decision on the heels of their outrageous screwup last November. I truly believe these guys needed to be tossed on the streets months ago, and any lingering doubts about terminating them has permanently evaporated this morning. IMO they don't deserve an opportunity to see if their gamble with LSU football lucks out and works. Nov 2015 + Nov 2016 = heads need to roll. When FKing moves on to his next venture, political or otherwise, and JoeAlleva skips town for another AD job, we are the ones left holding the bag and cleaning up the messes and living with the affects of the generational and high-stakes mistakes these clowns are making.

All that said, and this is the real point of my thread ... are any of you mad at O? Do we have reason to be upset with him? (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely asking if he did anything in attempting to get the job that was out of line and wasn't merely trying to do the best job he could possibly do and making the most out of very fortunate circumstances?) If he did (some shady back-stabbing stuff), string him up too. But If not, then its going to be difficult for me - if not impossible - to not root for the guy's success. I hate the hire and can't believe it, but I found at least this season in a very small sample size he does seem to get my juices going for LSU football like Les never did.

I'm rambling and my thoughts are all over the place right now with all this chaos, but I guess my point is that IMO all fire and brimstone should be squarely directed at Alleva and pals, not at O. Can't blame the guy for wanting to get his dream job and get an opportunity to work his arse off and win championships.

How can I be mad at O? He's a barely literate country boy who just conned an institution into paying him millions of dollars.

I'm fricking impressed.

I'm not mad at O. I think he's a good guy, and can't fault him for wanting to be head coach.

I'm appalled by the people who had a hand in hiring him.

well, and that's kind of what I'm getting at, and I don't know the answer. Did O do any "unbecoming" or "political" stuff behind the scenes that would be perceived as shady or not wholesome? (simply lobbying for the job is fine, nothing wrong with that)

I really don't know. And like I said, if he didn't we gotta get behind him until he shits the bed. But Alleva and FKing should start packing tonight.

No, I don't think he's going to be bad at all.

I am however appalled by Alleva and the total joke that this "search" was.

I don't blame O. I don't think he undermined Les and it was a brilliant move bringing in Ponsansky to control/ drive the narrative.

I am mad at JA for conducting a half added search and taking the easy way out.

Hiring Ponamsky for some bullshite made up job whose only purpose was to lobby his media pals for O was pretty shady and should've been a huge red flag.

Especially considering he already had 3 of the biggest names in Louisiana sports media (Bobby, T-Bob, Detillier) shilling for him on a constant basis.

There is a solid case to be made for O. Shall we?

11-4 at USC and LSU as interim after dumpster fire coaching changes.

Elite recruiter and motivator

Zero flight risk

Set multiple program offensive records with the TEs coach calling plays.

Lower relative salary frees up cash to bring in/keep top flight coordinators.

That said, I wanted Jimbo.

Of course I'm not pissed at O. I'm definitely pissed at the administration for fricking it up last year which just created the situation this year.

Neaux, why should we be? He is a man with heart and desire. LSU has been his dream job, and now has a chance to realize those dreams. I would just like many want an opportunity to fulfill my dreams. He definitely desires to do no harm to the LSU program.
