re: Garmin Tracking Collar

I ended up getting the 300i with tt25 collars. At the time, the price wasn't much different. If you get a good deal on the 200, then go for it, but I agree with above, newer units will be supported longer. Also, they are the same size, so any accessories for the 200 will fit the 300...
Not to hijack the thread, but wanted some recs on what to get. I would love to get one or two cans that I can switch and put on multiple guns. I know nothing about them Guns I'm interested suppressing M&P 15-22 rifle Walther P22 PSA 308 556 AR I was thinking of 2 cans, one just for 22s and ...
I work in a doctor's office and I hate it. We politely tell them that there is no cellphone use back here, if you need to make a call, please step out. What really gets me is how rude they are after being told that. 90% of the time, the call isn't even important. Usually a lot of mumbling or yellin...

What part of MS? Good job! Weather did play a part in it!...

Tough opener in SW MS Had a couple gobbling Saturday morning, one very close. I went and set up decoys in a field close to where I heard the gobble. As I was setting up decoys, I busted a few turkeys off the roost 50-60 yards from the field edge, but the gobbler wasn’t one of them. He kept gob...

Spot on. We’ve started to burn our <200 acres in SW Mississippi over the last 4-6 years or so. It’s crazy how fast they come to burned areas. We’ve always had turkeys but our numbers have exploded within the last few years....
My question is why is it 18? I thought you had to be 21 to buy a handgun.... I'm not against it, but 21 would be more appropriate. I can see maybe having a rule in there for 18 year olds in the military. ...

Just disc around the stand and throw some water around it. When we burn, we borrow our neighbor's water tank and sprayer that goes on the tractor. Wind permitting, start the fire there. ...
We are on the same schedule. Rotate between 2 areas. But we need to start burning some of other areas and add them to the rotation. ...
We've burned during turkey season before. They'll stick around and eat bugs and new growth. But the key thing is what the habitat will be 1-3 years from now. ...
You need to burn. We only plant for deer season and let the grass grow until end of summer. Burning has increased our turkey numbers within 2-3 years. Habitat is more important than food plots. EDIT: little more about letting grass grow. We don't do any bushhogging of plots or grass until late ...

it all depends. I usually set up with decoys in food plots closest to where I hear a gobble. But you have to move fast. Usually they are still on the tree when they gobble in the morning. You don't need to be on top of them, just close the distance. If you go too close they will spot you from the t...

Add a box or slate call, mask, and gloves and you're set. I do like a locator (owl call) but sometimes it's not necessary. The woods waking up will produce a gobble. A hat helps too, tilt your chin down to cover your eyes if you think the birds are on to you. ...

Patience and don't over call. I don't call within 15-20 minutes from my last call. I usually use decoys, they're fun to use especially when you get some sort of reaction to them (hen sitting down in front to be bred, jakes fighting them). Some say that decoys can have a negative effect (scaring ...
What part? We’re kinda in between Popvegas and Lumberton. Tons of does and some small racked bucks. The usual.
Poplarville Yea that's the usual for us as well. But this 10 pointer is big for our parts. Shot a decent 8 last year that weighed ~170lbs. We haven't killed a buck that...
Pear River County Plenty of does and yearlings. We have lots of spikes and small bucks, on of which was killed by the neighbors. Had one big 10 we've been after since October. Had him on camera not too long ago so I'm hoping he's still out there. I'll be out there this weekend and during Mari Gras...
That’s pretty close to where we saw one!...
Saw one recently while bird hunting in the Atchafalya basin. Was out in the middle of the field late afternoon. There was still another couple hours of daylight. Thankfully I saw it before my dogs did and kept them away from it. That was my first time seeing one besides dead or crossing a road. ...
I haven't seen much sign of them in our place in Pearl River County, MS. I have 2 big boars that run around but they don't frequent the feeders which I find odd. In the summer, even with the drought, I had a sounder or two of about 10 hogs each then they disappeared in October. I've only had a few...
