re: Cholly Mac vs Les - Bill77379
McClendon did not lose his job. I know that McClendon retired as coach at LSU at the age of 65, the mandatory retirement age for a public employee in LA. Again, he was not fired at all. ...

re: With exception of QB.... - Bill77379
The basic problem last year was the WR. They had trouble getting off blocks, running patterns and in general playing WR. WR play was responsible for about 4 of the interceptions and way more than half of all the scrambles and sacks. I expect a big improvement of 50% or more in WR play. I expect the ...

re: Either our offense is MUCH better or we are going to be bad on defense! - Bill77379
The offense will be much better, but the reason for so many TD was over half the scrimmage was in the red zone. There is some serious speed in the WR, in fact in the entire offense. A lot of the problem last year was inexperienced WR. This should improve greatly. In fact Chark is making everybody el...

re: ball under the fence...Should of been a rule double - Bill77379
The ball was under the padding which is not part of the fence for your definition for vertical line. The ball was also clearly visible. Under the field rules the ball was in play. If the padding had hid the ball it would have been a grounds rule double. ...

re: How does everyone feel about playing on Thanksgiving - Bill77379
I like it. For the first time there will not be a break in practice routine and emotion like there has been for the Friday and Saturday games against AR. IMO that has been a reason for the poor LSU performances against AR. LSU doesn't play the week before so getting the team ready should be much eas...

re: Elliott Porter - Bill77379
You can only run so many reps a practice. To the SHSU game and maybe the same this week to a lesser degree the big majority of the reps have been in the passing game. But in the next 3-4 weeks the running game may start getting its share again. IMO there will be a significant improvement in the runn...

re: Is LSU a better team for having played Wisconsin? - Bill77379
That is not where "the better" is. It is the game film which indicates the things on which LSU needs to improve. Play a good team defines weaknesses real well. I agree with Miles. LSU needs to make another great leap forward in the ULM game, much more than is normally expected between the second and...

re: Jennings... reminds me of Matt Mauck - Bill77379
Well, Jennings has a long way to go before he should be mentioned with Mauck. Mauck even when not completing passes could execute the offense. Jenning hasn't shown any signs of that. In fact he has looked like he can't execute it. You could tell Matt Mauck was a player from day one....

re: Any particular reason LSU fans want to see A&M or USC win tonight? - Bill77379
I want A&M to win because one of my kids went there. I also thinks it will make LSU look better to TX recruits when LSU beats A&M....

re: LSU Camp Question - Bill77379
Being an old guy who has sent a lot of kids and grand kids to to camp, I suggest when he first does not mind being left by himself in a group of strange kids. If he is uneasy about that and there is not a friend he can go with it I would recommend he not go. It would actually slow his personal devel...

re: Wisky Running attack - a heads-up - Bill77379
"This game is going to be a close one in the trenches, and whoever wins the time of possession will come out on top." Or who more likely who wins the field position battle. What LSU has to do is the same as 2011. Win it with special teams and defense. Give the other team the long field where a ...

re: Should LSU pursue Tim Williams if he transfer out of bama? - Bill77379
LSU secured Bower's "secret" commitment and they liked him better. There was also the chance that that Top DE from GA would be a commit to LSU. He only decided for U of GA on signing day. He was leaning to LSU but decided to stay in GA for his Mother. LSU quit recruiting him in late OCT. The LSU ...

re: Brief Wisco Breakdown - Bill77379
I am not suspecting the talent of anybody in the NFL but you seldom see any OL who can start a couple of years and are 5th year seniors at LSU or anywhere in the SEC except those that are marginal. LSU lost a 3rd year OG to the draft last year and could have lost a 3rd year OT. The OG was drafted...

re: Brief Wisco Breakdown - Bill77379
IMO Wisco may not have the time to throw most of those passes in the video. LSU's front 7 is different from IL" and NW's front 7. In addition the fact that Wisco has several 5th year seniors does not speak well about talent. Most of LSU's OL leave after their 3rd and 4th year as does our DL. I ...

re: Does Valentine take a red shirt? - Bill77379
I think not, at least by a decision. He will not be here more than 4 years, and probably will be here less. so why worry about saving a year. He might help in November and after the regular season....
