re: Why Alabama is Alabama and LSU is LSU - Bill77379
It is simple. AL alumni recruiting machine is way better than anyone else. When they get a coach who is a great recruiter they are tops. AL has twice as many elite players on their roster as anyone else and everyone in the US should be playing for 2nd place. It is not numbers like 6 to 4 or 10 to 5 ...

re: Impact of Kevin Steele Vs Alabama - Bill77379
IMO Steele's impact is in favor of AL unless he gets the DB organized before we play them. There were about twice as many WR open in the WKY game than there were the entire 2014 season....

re: With possible tropical development next week, let's talk about WKU - Bill77379
We should be more worried about Western KY. They are at least feisty. They were slaughtering NTSU last nite and had a sign in the stands saying, "LSU, you are next." I am not too concerned but they have a little fight in them, ...

re: Does Harris stare down his receivers? - Bill77379
"Poor" Harris. His receivers are over performing and the "hot receiver" has been open most of the time and he throws to him. He will never learn to read and pick up additional receivers if the "hot" receivers keep getting open. No, he doesn't "stare down" receivers. When the "hot" receiver has no...

re: Every pass by Harris vs Syracuse video - Bill77379
What is the genesis of that remark? It looked to me like every receiver to whom he threw was open. There were at least 4 drops in the game, maybe 5. I also still don't know why Dural missed that ball down the sidelines. He slowed down and it was just off his finger tips. He either misjudges it or lo...

re: The passing game is not going to open up - Bill77379
What's wrong is what you think makes for a team that can be considered a good passing team. What is correct is that LSU must be effective at passing. They are so good at rushing the ball that they only need to throw the ball when a good team like Bama, who is physically capable of stopping them ...

re: How much MORE will opponents load the box? - Bill77379
LSU can throw the ball. Other teams know it. At this point they do not want to find out. The TD pass to Dural in the MSU game was an opener to opposing coaches. It looked so easy. ...

re: Who does Guice remind you of? - Bill77379
Good answer, especially before his bad knee injury in high school. But he is bigger than Addai. On thinking about it I still say a smaller, not quite as strong less experienced Fournette....

re: After watching the Tigers offense through two games - Bill77379
The way LSU can execute the power running game, the big thing for the passing game is to be effective. If it is considered effective by the opponents especially on big plays, you may not have to use it like the last 2 games. That pass to Dural that was called back in the first series of the MSU ...

re: Miss at kicker on second chance kick - Bill77379
Of course there was always a chance, but I didn't think he would. The announcers said his range was 35 yards and the only FG he made over 40 yards ever was the 42 yard FG he made in this game. The announcers said he was 8 for 18 or something like that last year. So he is pretty lousy. No wonder LSU ...

re: scripted plays for opening drive? - Bill77379
The purpose of scripted plays is evaluate the defenses reaction to the sets and plays. The plays are selected to adjust blocking, pass protection and patterns. Plays are normally scripted for the first 2 and possibly 3rd down for each new first down. They are call scripted because they are selected ...

re: How big of an advantage will Miss State have versus us? - Bill77379
It is not an "advantage" over us per ce. They will have two "benefits". One is that they will have a chance to correct "execution" mistakes in both offense and defense. LSU doesn't have that opportunity. The second benefit is that LSU will have to scrimmage more than they would ordinarily do to...

re: Interview with a Miles Basher: Harris was hurt in 2014 - Bill77379
Why is that a problem? You think you change an OL from one offense to another overnight? Jennings had also practiced the pro set all of 2014 because Mett was the starter and that was what was run. LF came from a fairly similar offense. They started adding the pistol set and spread sets but changing ...
