I’m trying to get a feel on the crossover vote this election.

I’m sure you’ll find lots of Dems on this board

Registered DEM is VERY different from actually being a liberal, or true DEM.
Half my family is still registered DEM, but none of them are liberal.

4 years ago there were. Many like to call this board a conservative echo chamber but back before 2016, it had a large liberal presence.
I think this board reflects what has happened to most of this country outside the urban cults.

Another good question would be, "Who here voted for Hillary last time but will vote for Trump this time?"
At a minimum, I'd say that would be the case for Toddy and maybe Omlandshark.

I’m a democrat and I am voting for Trump.

I know Toddy and a few other left leaving posters on here have become more conservative but I can’t speak for them if they’ll vote Trump or stay home.
I have a couple long time liberal friends that have jumped on the Trump train

Registered Dem and VOTED for Trump 2020
Posted on 10/30/20 at 10:21 am to bhtigerfan
Technically I am a registered Dem voting for Trump, but that’s only because I live in a city where it’s not safe to be a registered Republican (and also because I wanted to vote in the Dem primary)

I know lots of people who voted for Obama twice but didn’t like HRC and never went back. Clay Travis is in that category.

Trump is not a real republican. He would have run as a democrat if they had determined it was Hillary’s turn.
He’s the anti-deep state and the hate him for it. He’s pretty much a man fighting for the country. Only the brainwashed can’t see it.

True.
But our Rulers are straining every sinew to brainwash all of us - washing our minds in the filthy bathwater of Marxism.

Kentucky Democrat here. Only Dem candidate I voted for was Al Gore, but I was 19 years old

Started leaning Democrat during the second Bush term. Back to supporting republican presidents again with Trump even though he wasn't my horse in the 2016 primary. I'm not necessarily a republican now, but I will back them if I think they are more supportive of personal liberty than their opponents.
Trump has met or exceeded my expectations outside of some of his more ridiculous public statements. He still acts/speaks like a the eccentric billionare he is, but somehow I relate to him more than modern Democrats.
And as much as I hated Ted Cruz a few years ago, he's new "down to earth" persona has caught my attention lately. I might support him 2024 if he runs, but I like that guy in the governor's office in Florida too.
ETA: Trump will be the first incumbent president I've ever voted for.

I was a Dem for 35 years but converted 5 years ago. Besides me and my wife, the rest of my family (mother, father, son, daughter) are still Dems. Everyone is voting for Trump, except my daughter, who I hope just doesn't vote at all.

I’m hoping the Walk Away movement results in a large number of people stepping away.
There has to be a good number of people like Tim Pool out there.

Maybe the most surprising one to turn on the crazies.
This election is different. It's no longer Democrat vs Republican. It's capitalism vs socialism, and it's not a stretch at all. Bernie and Warren being in the cabinet should scare anyone who draws a paycheck.
