re: Personally owned property vs LLC Rental Question - Htown Tiger on 5/2/17 at 11:02 am
Thanks atom. Good advice and good to know. I think I may investigate this property manager solution and see if I can just get something drafted up to establish those rights. I do understand that it wont shield me from anything (I'll have an umbrella policy anyway), it was more of just not having my ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Personally owned property vs LLC Rental Question - Htown Tiger on 5/2/17 at 10:42 am
Question for any real estate gurus: If I own a piece of property under my name (since the bank wouldnt loan the money to a newly established LLC), can I still rent it under the LLC name? Meaning, I just want the rent agreement to be between the renter and the LLC vs the renter and myself. I doubt it...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
Anyone deal with any hard money lenders? - Htown Tiger on 4/27/17 at 2:36 pm
What type of "closing" process is involved in one of those deals? Anything official, or just depends on who it is lending the money? Anyone know what a typical interest rate is with one? ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
Property Tax question on new purchase - Htown Tiger on 4/17/17 at 7:06 pm
I'm about to close on a house for a value that is quite a bit less than the taxed assessed value. Can I get the tax assessed value lowered to the purchase price? Do I simply just protest the assessed value during the annual protest period, or is there more to it than that?...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: How do you measure/quantify non-monetary benefits against the dollar? - Htown Tiger on 3/31/17 at 2:19 pm
shotcaller1
Yeah, I wouldnt say my lifestyle would really change much. I think we'd live pretty much the same way, with just a bit less savings. It's more about how easy other things would be- like 2 kids soon to be starting catholic school. It would help a ton there. But I dont thin...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
How do you measure/quantify non-monetary benefits against the dollar? - Htown Tiger on 3/31/17 at 1:12 pm
For those that have taken less money opportunities, curious to hear how people weigh or measure the "other benefits" against the money they are missing out on - whether that be more enjoyable job, less of a commute, better quality of life, or even a better job even though its less pay. I'm strug...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)
re: Buying a cheap car - Htown Tiger on 3/31/17 at 10:49 am
I have a 07 Accord with $103k miles on it, single owner, no wrecks, no problems, and I can't get any bites at $6k. I thought that was reasonably priced, but I guess market is telling me otherwise. So I have to sell this for something in the 5k, then yeah i would say there should be similar decent de...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

I've been riding the "fade LSU" thing for a bit, but I haven't decided on this one. Auburn only beat us by 4 earlier in the year at their place. I've seen a number of people on Eastern Michigan today. What's the sell?...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)

re: 2" Strip Steaks Sous Vide w/ Pics - Htown Tiger on 1/2/17 at 9:45 pm
I also did some strip steaks the other day for my first sous vide adventure. They came out incredible. Can't wait to do a filet. I did 135 for about an hour and then finished it off with a hot skillet and torch combo as well. Preseasoned with salt and cracked garlic pepper. re: Resume - should I put a summary/objective section at the top? - Htown Tiger on 12/21/16 at 9:26 am
I agree with getting rid of the objective paragraph. Regarding the other structure, how old are you and have you been working in the industry for a couple of years now? I only ask because if you're coming out of college and your previous work experience is part-time work while in college, I agree...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
