What are most folks using these days for suburban lawns? I'm currently using a 2 gallon carry but after doing my front yard pre-emergent program a few days ago I've decided to upgrade. I don't have much of a yard just under a .5 acre total lot size minus the house so however much that is.

Definitely thinking of a backpack style but was curious to see if anyone uses the battery driven kind and if you like it or not.

I have a .5 acre lot as well. I own the Echo 4 gallon backpack sprayer and I don't really like it. It beats carrying around the 2 gallon pump sprayer. It's fairly uncomfortable on the shoulders and the pump action is uncomfortable no matter what arm or angle I try. It works, it does the job but I'd look elsewhere if you go the backpack route

This is what Harbor Freight is for.

THey have a 4 gallon backpack sprayer that is cheap and works great.
I've had mine for about 5 years now, no issues.
Take the time to do a quick flush when you finish with clean water and it'll last forever.

This is supposed to be one of the best on the market. When I wanted one, they were on backorder so I bought a Hart 4 gal from Wal Mart to tide me over since I already had a compatible battery.

We have 1 acre so I'm going electric.

I've always had the carry type and just got done spraying my vegetable garden area that has been lying empty for months due to my having ankle fusion surgery in late Nov. and not being about to work it as I'm still in a boot and on crutches.

I do have a Drs. appointment today to see what I can do and hopefully I can at least dump the crutches and just use the boot and get back to putting in my garden for the summer months.

I am definitely going to go with a new sprayer and it will be a backpack type with the long handle you can pump as you go. My spraying needs consist of mainly perimeter spraying around the yard and down the driveway for about 250 ft. total

I would definitely go with a battery powered sprayer, whether or not it's hand-held or backpack is up to you. Normally the hand-held holds less so that is one thing to consider. The reason behind battery powered is that you get a consistent spray and not one that's dependent on how much pressure you have in the tank. When you use the pump-up sprayer, the pressure is good at first but then the amount of herbicide coming out is less when the pressure goes down leaving an inconsistent application.

Nothing like a cheap backpack sprayer leaking chemical down your back for 2 hours.

I've got a boat load of DeWalt cordless tools and batteries. Went ahead and got the DeWalt battery powered backpack sprayer this past Summer. Like it a lot. I hate the shite out of pump up sprayers.

I've got a lot of Roundup I spray, so pumping the entire time sucks.

I feel like it was an ag products or northern sprayer. It’s old and has obviously been modified over the years. The sprayer has a hose that I can use while driving to spot spray so I turn the valve off to the boom and ride around and get all the tight or sensitive sports first then I turn that off and use thee booms to spray everything else. It’s 15 gallons.

The wire running to the mower has a plug and a switch so I just have to plug it in and use the switch to turn the motor on and off.

That's exactly why I'm asking folks here. I get ideas here and then also go look at consumer reports and other places.

I'm in the same situation but with Milwaukee. I was actually looking at theirs but they have some bad reports about leaking. I'm on the fence about theirs. But I'm actually hoping some of those reports are "1 offs" because I really don't want another battery/charger set up.

Stay away from Milwaukee. I had mine a week and returned it because of leaks. Crappy seals. I bought a Craftsman backpack sprayer and so far it’s good.

I have a FlowZone with several TeeJet nozzles. (Mostly use 11004 for herbicides). It’s incredible. I went back and forth on spending the money for years and can’t believe I waited that long. It’s made life so much easier.

Havent' had that cheap $30 harbor freight backpack sprayer leak on me, and my dog even chewed up the cover and it still doesn't leak.

I really do like the idea of the battery powered sprayer, and i'll probably get one once my cheap harbor freight one craps out, but for a hand pump sprayer, you can't beat that cheap harbor freight one.
