re: SoFi - anyone used this for a mortgage - rlanders23
Looked into a couple weeks ago as they hold my grad school student loan. Unfortunately, the low rates were offset by an estimated closing cost of $10k. We were much better off going through a local credit union. All that said, I've been very pleased in dealing with Sofi in the past and would reco...

re: Has anyone read any of these investment books before? - rlanders23
Haven't read the second one but the first and last are solid. The first one is pretty much required reading for anyone with even an inkling of investing interest ...

re: 2016 health plans - rlanders23
@wasp, understand the insurance companies aren't purposely trying to provide a worse product. Like you said, it's a changing environment, and they're trying to do their best to make money, which means attracting and retaining customers. @bestbank, I haven't looked into the sharing ministries simp...

re: 2016 health plans - rlanders23
@wasp, basically, just want to be able to purchase insurance like I have in the past, which is be given a menu of options for which I pick the appropriate plan based on my family's needs and budget constraints. Whether or not the next door neighbor likes or can afford that plan is really none of...

re: 2016 health plans - rlanders23
Yea, that's what we had this year (the bcbs bronze ppo, which was hsa compatible. The hmos offered exhibit these same features but with a much more limited network. In other words, if you like your doctor...plan on him/her not accepting this sh!tty hmo plan...

2016 health plans - rlanders23
Alright, ladies and gents of the MT, I need help. I'm self-employed and live in the Houston burbs with a wife and two kids. Unfortunately, the bcbstx ppo plan we have in 2015 will no longer be offered, so I'm shopping for alternatives. Again, unfortunately, there seem to be no ppo plans offered for ...

re: Student Loan Refi options (SOFI/ DRB/ Lendkey/ etc..) - rlanders23
Have refi'd through sofi twice since 2012. Great rates and easy to work with. The latest rate was about six months ago at 1.9% on a 5yr adjustable rate...

re: At what point would you let someone purchase a piece of your company... - rlanders23
I guess the question is ask is if he's doing this because he wants out of the property (to your point about value peaking), wants to help you out since you couldn't get approval (is okay holding the paper, essentially) or wants in on the upside of your business. And then obviously you have to see i...

re: At what point would you let someone purchase a piece of your company... - rlanders23
Where did that $1mm valuation come from and how confident are you in it? I only ask because it seems awfully low at 1x ebitda (assuming ebitda and net profit are similar numbers). Would hate for you to give a percentage based on an inaccurate valuation....

re: Stevie tag at 2nd... - rlanders23
Heads up play for sure but I'm guessing he was already jogging in from center, thinking the third out was secured. Got close to second, saw what was going on and covered. Nonetheless, a great play!...

Bahaha. Stacy is very competitive and despite being fairly intelligent, is a proud razorback. I can only imagine how much it pained her to put those nasty colors on. ...

re: Depth at Linebacker - rlanders23
Saw a q&a with CFW on facebook where he was asked a question about linebacker recruiting. Frank responded that we had 7 on the roster and will bring in some with the 2016 class. Not sure if that Q&A has already been posted so forgive me if this is a repeat of info....

Home theater speakers - rlanders23
Any suggestions on home theater speakers? We already have a receiver but no speakers. Room is dedicated theater (18' x 13') pre-wired for 7.1. Will have ceiling mounted projector and fixed projector screen. Does not need to be top of the line as if like to keep this under $1000. I know nothing about...

re: Small Business Valuation Question - rlanders23
Unless it's a tech business, it'll more likely be valued based on a multiple of Profit or EBITDA rather than revenue. From the info you provided, we don't even know if the business makes a net profit....

re: Has any OTer been accused by a rental car company of not returning a rental? - rlanders23
Yes. Forgot to leave the keys in the car and didn't realize until on the bus to the terminal. Dropped them in the provided "key drop" on the bus and assumed all was well. Rental car company called two days later to ask where the vehicle was. Was annoying, but we were able to resolve the issue over t...
