This movie was a staple in my home throughout my childhood.

It's so fricking good.

It's a tie between The Man From Snowy River and Quigley Down Under.

Both are epic.

The Return to Snowy River is a close second.

Love that movie, saw it in the theaters as a kid and like The Black Stallion...both are perfect family movies.

I agree with this part but Matthew Quigley would like a word.

My brother and I still constantly quote Man from Snowy River, though. My dad's dog got loose a while back and the first thing I thought was "he's runnin' with the brumbies" We watched Snowy River and Quigley constantly.

Absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. I really enjoy Gallipoli as another great Australian movie.

It’s a classic and a staple in my home. My daughter is crazy about horses. We watch the original and sequel frequently.

Tom Burlinson was a classically trained stage performer and crooner. He took riding lessons and became an expert horseman in the long run. All around talented baw. He did a lot of his own stunts on the films. The original was the highest grossing Australian film at the time.

Dude, I woke up at 3am and saw this link - couldn’t stop watching it - watched the whole thing.

Trying to work but I’m tired as crap.

Damn you sir. Thanks for the link, but damn you.

I got a bull whip and learned to pop it from my horse because of this movie. Never ran full speed down a mountain though.
