Transportation between Denver and Breckenridge

Planning a ski trip in 2024 to Breck - we have zero plans to use a vehicle while in Breck since everything is walkable. Do people recommend a shuttle? Uber?

Colorado mountain Mountain express. They run sprinter vans to and from a handful of times a day. Book flight then go book shuttle. Meet them outside baggage claim and they drop you off just about anywhere in breck, air Bnb to hotels.

united has a shuttle that drops off in breck if you fly united.
Baggage gets booked all the way through so you don't go to baggage claim, and I think you load at a gate at the airport.
not sure how prices would compare to the other shuttles though.

This is semi-correct information. United does have a bus that runs from Denver to Breckenridge through a partnership with LandLine. Though it is sold as a plane ticket with Breckenridge (QKB) as the destination. United passengers landing in Denver can't just use the shuttle.

Shuttles are great. Everything is walkable even the grocery store

Plenty of shuttle options and the bus system in town is excellent. But the control freak in me can’t quit renting.
Plenty of Uber operators around, too.

How many in your party? Shuttle prices can run $100+ one way per person. If you’re a party of four or more, price a rental.

Back in the day, we priced out the shuttle (CMX) and it was not cheap. We figured that three of us could rent a car and drive to Breck to stay for a week (with the rental) for the price of three bus roundtrip tickets. That may have changed.
Also keep in mind that rental cars downtown are cheaper than the airport, and there is a 20 minute train ride to downtown for $10.
If the price of a rental is less than a set of bus tickets, keep in mind you have the convenience of a car for a week. That's nice if you decide to ski Keystone or Copper, have dinner in another town, or want to rent a condo/hotel in Frisco, which is certainly cheaper than downtown Breck.
All my advice is 10+ years old so I may be completely full of crap. Do your research.
Final thought, everybody rents and SUV. We cheaped out (college kids trying to save a penny) and got a full size car with a trunk pass through that carried three of us plus gear just fine over the mountain. I was not going to brave a mountain blizzard in it, but it was fine in mild snowfall.

Definitely shuttle. I recently went and Ubered. A snowstorm shut down the interstate and we were stuck in the Uber for five hours right before the tunnel. Shuttle companies talk by radio about road conditions and will take alternate routes. Worth every penny.

Went during Mardi Gras. Found Summit Express to be the cheapest. About $80/person each way. Only downside is on the return to DIA, they are extra cautious and want to pick you up extra early depending on flight time

Could take the Bustang to Frisco and uber down to breck. We have taken it a few times, and it isn't bad.
One way is $12 a person

With a party of two, shuttle service to him from Breckenridge is probably going to be somewhat cheaper than paying for a rental vehicle. But, the rental can provide a convenience factor while you are in town. Hope you enjoy your stay! You really can’t make a bad decision.
