I think there are a lot of variables to consider in this question. Competition at the end of a season is typically better (SEC-level) than competition at the beginning of a season. Players are typically less healthy at the end of the season than the beginning. Opponents also have more film (aka more...

I'm from around Auburn, and my uncle was a season ticketholder. Usually I end up on their side. I've sat in the opposing stands of Florida and Alabama too. My philosophy as a fan is to try to have a sense of humor, leave the game on the field, and attempt to be the best representative of LSU that I...

I marched LSU and my baby bro marched Auburn, so I am partial to both. I had a ton of friends in the Auburn band. They used to call us the "Flipfolder Band from Tigerland," because we used music on the field. Then I explained that we played different halftime shows for every home game. They only pla...

Kiffin's a douche. Meyer and Saban are both cold, calculating guys leading very disciplined teams. Florida has no shortage of good coaching. And Alabama has no shortage of playmakers. After watching that Auburn game, I think Florida has the advantage of knowing how to trip Bama up. On the other h...
That PP sign is brilliant. Giant Chad Jones Dreadlocks of Doom? Chuck pulling an 18-wheeler trailer? Les doing the devil horns? Because we are READY TO ROCK! Can't wait to see what y'all pull off!...

Yeah, you (Bama) have a week off before us and UF has their bye before us. The scheduling gods love us this year. I'm pretty sure this extra prep time will result in two beatings, after which the national media start drinking the Rant Kool-Aid about how we are a sad program in terrible decline. ...

My brother's an Auburn fan, and my uncle's a season ticket holder. I grew up going to their games, so I have a soft spot for Jordan Hare. But it is no Tiger Stadium. Remember how bad Auburn was last year compared to our 'bad' season? Their fans are hungry for real wins, and Saturday was their firs...

I get a lot of "Geaux Tigers" down here and when I lived in the northwest. A bunch of other SEC fans have started up great conversations, usually with a little ribbing. I've had drinks bought for me and done the same for others. It does seem that we're well-liked, more so than other schools. I've se...

As a working journalist (and Reveille alumna), I promise you that asking for input from rabid LSU football fans for a story about LSU football traditions is pretty legit reporting. It's also pretty brave, considering the flamers around here. Remember that Nick is on campus. He doesn't have access to...

I graduated in '03 and didn't miss a home game in the four years I was a student. It saddens me that all the students don't have the opportunity to go to all the games anymore. It saddens me more that the stadium was so empty on TV on Saturday. (I know it was raining, but man, it looked really thin....

re: LSU Fans in Alabama

I'm from Bamaland. My family are mostly Auburn (grandparents, uncle, mom, brother) alums. My dad teaches at Auburn. I catch plenty of hell when we lose to them, but they always cheer for us when we're playing somebody else (as I do for them). A lot of Bama fans can be supremely obnoxious about it...
