I don't understand why the head coach resigned?
quote:

“Due to the loss of Ronnie and the emotional burden it has caused me, I don’t feel I can give my all to these players or this program,” Laird said. “Any coach will tell you that their players become like family, so the loss of Ronnie was like losing a son. I love this program and this university and I know it will persevere and move forward with the competitive spirit that is at the core of our DNA.”

It looks like the entire team is super sad about it and they decided to forgo the season. It’s not just the coach. Why don’t y’all read the article?

All we need is a brief tweet or headline to form an unshakable opinion.

Is there a precedent for this? Virginia last year maybe?

I am sure there have been many teammates murdered/killed tragically in the past and I have never heard of a team canceling the season.

What I’m wondering is if there is some Dave Bliss stuff going on to where something untoward happened with the recruitment of the dead player.

A coach resigning after something like this, rightly or wrongly, implies a connection.

Maybe it’s just a reflection of where we are at in society, in that feelings and emotions have overtaken everything, perseverance and the show must go on mantras are dead.

They were supposed to be McNeese 's homecoming opponent on Saturday. Nothing like last minute cancellation.

At least McNeese knows beforehand.

The Grambling players no showed the bus to the Jackson State game a few years back after a pissing match with the school administration and the school acted as if the game would go on until only about 4 players showed up.
