It wasn't bad. I think the story was a bit slow and not as interesting as it could have been, but to me it was like Paul Harvey's old radio show. By the end there's a moral or new perspective that made it worth the read....

the moon is tidally locked (because physics), so the same side always faces us. same story with mercury and the sun or other bodies in similar orbital arrangements. i think our axial tilt causes the craters appear to rotate, but i'm not sure about that....

I'm re-reading Ian Toll's "The Conquering Tide", and I was confused as to why the Japanese didn't evacuate all ships from Truk Lagoon when they moved their heavy warships out.
