re: Did anyone think B. Harris looked bigger? - flucobaseball
Well he is in a college weight program. It's not surprising he is bigger....

re: Anyone have a video clip of Stevenson throwing out runner? - flucobaseball
I don't think anyone is ridiculing Stevenson. We were all happy he made the play and it was certainly a good play for us. Don't confuse the bigness of the play for it being a great throw. We are blessed to have Stevenson out there. I'm just differing with those who would say he's clearly the best...

re: Anyone have a video clip of Stevenson throwing out runner? - flucobaseball
You have to have the opportunity to make these plays. Stevenson is amazing defensively as you say with his ability to run down plays and make catches but he is not the only one who can do so. Highlight tapes are great but it doesn't prove anything other than he's had more plays like that this seas...

re: Anyone have a video clip of Stevenson throwing out runner? - flucobaseball
It's hard to say who specifically is better than him at fielding balls but he's not nearly the only one who can run down balls and make diving catches. There are others though who are more complete outfielders because they can throw much better. I'm strictly speaking defensively and I don't preten...

re: Anyone have a video clip of Stevenson throwing out runner? - flucobaseball
The CF almost two-hopped the ball on a throw he had a running headstart on and was almost into the infield. He also didn't even hit the catcher deadcenter.
The throw occurred this way because that's what kind of arm Stevenson has. Do you really think only our coaches, players, a...

re: Anyone have a video clip of Stevenson throwing out runner? - flucobaseball
I'm not sure how we can have any reasonable conversation about this if you don't think it was a close play. All I can say is watch it again. It's called knowing who you are playing against. A blooper with Stevenson out there you run if the guy isn't slow....

Yea sending him was definitely the right thing to do. Stevenson barely got him as it was. ...

re: Mainieri's bullpen tactics - flucobaseball
He over coaches, he tries to go by the book, to a fault. Doesn't really understand or likes "small ball" and if is wasn't for Canizaro, we'd be much worse off. If a pitcher strikes out the side in the 8th, he should start the ninth, at the very least, regardless of the pitch count. If he play...

re: Mainieri's bullpen tactics - flucobaseball
i get that each player has a role but thats what im asking about. what advantage does this give us? it just seems that often times, we take out a Bugg or Person or Cartwright or whoever that is pitching well and bring in the next role player only to see him struggle. also it means that ou...

re: Chinea should bat cleanup IMHO - flucobaseball
He was hitting hard line drives before but was getting out on some and people weren't seeing the homeruns so they thought he should just pinch hit. The guy hits the ball hard. ...

re: Porsha - flucobaseball
People complain that coach doesn't take him out early enough because he trusts Poche too much. Then they complain that he's taken out early. Thank goodness us fans always know the perfect time to take someone out. ...

re: Should Byrd get a shot at 2nd? - flucobaseball
I mean in the sense that he has played infield previously and has the speed and arm to play it. I don't necessarily buy that we would have seen him already just because he has the tools to play. Technically Hale has the tools to play it as well but PM thinks Kramer gives us the best chance to make...

re: Should Byrd get a shot at 2nd? - flucobaseball
I was noting Foster's speed for 2nd base mainly. I just mean physically he has the tools for either position in the infield. I only mentioned 3rd because I was noting that he played there in high school. Sorry for the confusion....

re: Should Byrd get a shot at 2nd? - flucobaseball
He apparently played 3rd base in high school. I doubt he just lost it all together. He has the speed and plenty of arm. We don't need him to be a world beater. Just make the plays and hit....

re: Should Byrd get a shot at 2nd? - flucobaseball
Foster and Fraley are hitting too well to play Byrd longterm. If you can't trust Foster at 2nd or 3rd then Hale should be at 2nd. If Foster can play 2nd you leave Hale at first and still have Chinea to DH. If Foster can play 3rd, Hale can play 2nd and Zardon can play first. None of these are idea...
