Sounds like the cops were incompetent as frick and 3-4 departments responded to this call.
Police don't know shite about what they're doing 95% of the time. You get what you pay for and cops are lucky to make 30K a year.

Don't live next to criminals and you have nothing to worry about.

Did anyone read the article? The guy started shooting at police when they entered the home.

"My house has been destroyed by a para-military unit," owner Leo Lech said Friday.
I like that quote.

He randomly picked Lech's home to hide in.
Ouch.

After several hours, a Greenwood Village police team entered the home and were fired upon by the armed man, police said.
If that's true, then after this it wasn't about shoplifting anymore. Completely disproportionate response though. I'm glad this guy took it to the news.

IDGAF. This isn't Fallujah, although I'm sure most swat f@gs wish it was.

Anybody else thought this was strange. Who is the kid?
Just incomplete reporting?

Some of yall are worse than the mainstream media with the exaggeration and spinning.
What would you have had them do? Eventually they have to get the guy out. I don't know what they did to destroy the house like that, but I'm not going to jump to conclusions and say it was unecessary. At that point, apprehending the guy should be done as safely as possible so as to not risk anyone else's lives.

You really have to be trolling.

Then you would be bitching about your tax dollars going to waste while you have 50 or so cops from 3-4 different departments getting paid overtime to wait him out for a couple of days. They tried to wait him out over night. It wasn't working.

I bet the house ends up in better shape than before this happened:
The home is insured, by Safeco Insurance, for $260,000, Lech said. The claim is being reviewed and a clause about damage caused by "government agencies" may void coverage, he said.
Safeco could not be reached for comment Friday.
Carole Walker, executive director of the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association, said the claim will likely be covered.
She likened it to a kitchen fire, in which fire fighters cause water damage in order to douse a fire.
"In any claim, there is a claims adjustor and they will do their own investigation," Walker said. "Insurance will look at it on a case by case basis."
Greenwood Village has also contacted its insurance agency about the incident, said Matt Cohrs, assistant to the city manager. He described the home as a crime scene.
"We have already begun working with our insurance carrier," Cohrs said.
Both parties — the city and homeowner — should be working with insurers, Cohrs said.

Does that justify the house being blown up?
Should these cops just assume everyone has insurance coverage for them to blow people's houses up?
